Does Gears of War: E-Day have cross-play?
Xbox-PC cross-play is not confirmed by the official sources reviewed. The Xbox game listing identifies Xbox Series X|S and PC versions and describes online co-op for up to four players, but it does not state that players on those platforms can join the same online sessions. That means cross-play should be treated as unconfirmed—not as confirmed, and not as definitively absent.
Shared progression and cross-play are different features: sharing progress between platform versions does not establish that people playing on those versions can play together online.
Does E-Day have cross-progression?
Yes. Xbox says its Play Anywhere support lets players move between Xbox Series X|S and PC with shared progression and achievements. This is the stated Xbox-PC continuity feature; the listing does not clarify the exact scope of every type of progress or establish that the Steam version uses the same shared-save behavior. Can you play E-Day split-screen?
Yes. The game supports two-player split-screen co-op on console only. The official materials do not establish local split-screen support on PC. How many players can play online?
The Xbox listing states that the campaign supports up to four online players. Xbox Wire identifies Campaign, Horde Siege, and Versus as online play modes. Horde Siege is a PvE mode. Xbox’s overview describes it as a 12-player experience divided into three squads; that mode-specific figure does not change the campaign’s stated four-player online limit. Read the official Horde Siege overview.

According to the Xbox listing, online campaign co-op, Horde Siege, Versus, and other online multiplayer features require a Game Pass subscription that includes online multiplayer; the subscription is sold separately. Subscription terms can change, so check the current listing for the applicable requirement before playing. The Xbox page lists Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC and gives an October 6, 2026 release date; it also says the game is included at launch with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
