To get stronger in Heir of Light: Eclipse, push the main story, claim idle rewards, and invest first in a compact five-Servant team with complementary roles. When a stage stops you, adjust formation and check the enemy matchup before spending scarce resources. Equipment, breakthroughs, and side modes add power as they become relevant; you do not need to master every system or make a purchase to begin progressing.

What “Servant” means, and how to build a team

The game calls its characters Servants; “hero” is a familiar shorthand, but Servant is the in-game term. The official Google Play listing describes an idle RPG built around 5v5 battles, multiple factions, PvE and PvP, guild dungeons, and rewards that accumulate while you are away.

A five-person team works best when its members cover different jobs rather than all competing for the same one. BlueStacks’ beginner guide groups Servants into five broad roles:

  • Warriors: front-line all-rounders.
  • Tanks: absorb incoming damage.
  • Rangers and Mages: deal damage from the back line.
  • Supports: help the team survive or function more effectively.

Use those roles as a starting point, not a rigid formula. Your available Servants and the opposition determine what works. Combat is automated, so the formation you choose—and when you use Servant ultimates—are important decisions even when you are not issuing commands throughout a battle.

A mixed, balanced lineup is a reasonable way to start. As you reach harder content, faction composition and faction bonuses can matter more. The official whitepaper also emphasizes that Servants have different tactics and that five-person synergy matters. Treat faction bonuses as another factor to consider, not a reason to discard a useful Servant or follow a fixed endgame template. The best lineup depends on your roster, the enemy, and the game’s current balance; the available sources do not establish a reliable current tier list.

A practical early progression loop

  1. Advance the main story. Chapter content is built around 5v5 stage battles. Progressing gives you a clear next objective and leads into more of the game’s systems. If you lose, review your formation and matchup before changing your whole roster.
  2. Collect idle rewards. Claim the resources accumulated through the idle system, then check the live mission screen for available daily and weekly tasks. The task list can change, so use the in-game screen rather than relying on an old checklist.
  3. Invest in a small core team. Servant XP and Gold support leveling, while breakthroughs address level gates and unlock or improve abilities. Breakthroughs use XP, Gold, and Aran Glyphs; follow the current in-game prompts for requirements and costs.
  4. Equip and enhance suitable gear. Use Quick Equip for convenience, or review pieces manually and choose equipment whose stats fit the Servant’s role. Enhance the gear you have equipped on your core team rather than spreading upgrades indiscriminately.
  5. Try side modes as they open. Expedition Record, Abaddon, and Corrupted Waterway offer different challenges and rewards. They are options to develop your account, not a mandatory sequence that every beginner must follow.

When story progress stalls

A failed stage does not automatically mean you need a new summon or a large batch of upgrades. Start with the decisions that cost nothing:

  • Move a durable Servant into a position where they can protect more vulnerable allies.
  • Check whether your team has both a front line and enough damage to defeat the opposing team.
  • Try a different formation or Servant position. The official whitepaper specifically describes repositioning as a countermeasure in Abaddon; the same habit of checking placement is useful when diagnosing a difficult fight.
  • Collect idle rewards and complete available missions, then use the resulting resources to level or improve the core team.
  • Return to equipment and role fit: a convenient auto-equip choice may not be the best match for a particular Servant.

If the stage remains out of reach, spend time in an available side mode or let idle resources accumulate before trying again. The game has several progression routes, and difficulty and rewards vary by mode.

What the main modes are for

The official whitepaper names chapter stories, Expedition Record, Abaddon, Corrupted Waterway, PvP, and Dimension Rift. The store listing also identifies guild dungeons and real-time PvP. Availability and the rewards on offer depend on what your account has unlocked.

  • Chapter story: the main sequence of stage battles and a useful early focus.
  • Expedition Record: side stories that award special gear when completed.
  • Abaddon: a floor-based challenge that becomes harder as you climb; use formation changes to respond to enemies.
  • Corrupted Waterway: a mode with selectable difficulty. The whitepaper says harder settings can provide more upgrade loot, so choose a level your team can reasonably clear.
  • PvP, guild dungeons, and other unlocked modes: additional activities rather than requirements for every story-stage attempt.

Gear, breakthroughs, and systems to tackle later

Equipment and leveling

Equipment adds stats, but no single set or stat choice is established as universally best. Match a piece to the Servant wearing it and the job you need that Servant to do. Quick Equip can get you started; manual selection gives you a chance to compare the stats. For leveling and breakthroughs, use the in-game requirements shown for your Servant because thresholds and costs may change.

Faction strengthening and T4 equipment

In an announcement dated 13 August 2024, Com2uS Holdings described faction strengthening: consuming Epic-or-higher Servants raises a faction level and strengthens Servants belonging to that faction. The announcement also described T4 equipment upgraded from T3. These are layered account systems, not the first thing a new player needs to optimize. Read each confirmation carefully before consuming a duplicate or another valuable Servant, and check the current interface and costs in your game.

Equipment awakening and other unlocks

A 11 November 2024 update report said Mythic-or-higher Servants could awaken equipped T3 and T4 equipment, with reported caps of five awakening levels for T3 and ten for T4; it also said Awakening Stones were available through in-game shops and that amulets gained additional gem slots. Those are facts about the update at that time, not guaranteed current caps or instructions for every account. Check the current in-game help before planning around them.

A third-party leveling guide says Sacred Relics are exclusive Servant equipment that directly enhance abilities and become available after stage 6-4. Because this unlock detail comes from a third-party guide and may not match a later client, use the in-game progression screen to confirm it for your account.

Resources and spending

BlueStacks’ beginner guide describes Servant XP as a leveling resource earned through idle rewards, quests, story clears, and other activities; Gold as a resource for enhancing Servants and equipment; and Karat as premium currency used for Servant summons. These descriptions are a useful orientation, not an exhaustive account of every later system. Check the in-game item descriptions before deciding how to use a resource.

The official store listing identifies in-app purchases, including random items. That does not establish that a beginner must spend to progress. Com2uS’s Special Shop and Ruby guide says Ruby packs can be used for in-game offers; buying Ruby packs directly does not grant VIP EXP, while spending Rubies on in-game offers does. Consider purchases optional, and read the offer details in the game rather than assuming a pack provides a particular progression advantage.

Keep current details in perspective

The Google Play listing displayed 15 May 2026 as its update date and listed then-current additions including Raven’s Treasure Vault, Transcendent Servant Laurencia, an expanded Training Grounds level, and new Special Packs. Banners, balance, events, gear caps, and mission tasks can change; use live game notices and in-game help for current specifics. The sources do not establish current summon odds, guaranteed starting rewards, or a dependable present-day Servant ranking, so this guide does not prescribe a pull target or tier list.
