Motorola’s My UX is the company’s set of interface customizations, gestures, and device tools layered around Android—not a separate operating system. It can change the phone’s appearance and how selected tasks work, while Android remains the underlying OS. The exact controls and features depend on the Motorola model, software version, carrier, and region.
What My UX changes
Motorola describes My UX in terms of personalizing the phone, using gestures for everyday actions, and gaming. It is more than a visual theme: its tools can affect both the Home screen and how you trigger certain functions.
Appearance and layout
Motorola says users can choose colors, fonts, and icon shapes; set wallpapers for the Home and Lock screens; and customize icon and widget layouts. On supported models, theme controls are available from the Home screen’s Personalize options. The specific menu and choices may differ by device.
Gestures and gaming
Motorola’s how-to instructions describe turning the flashlight on or off with a chopping motion and switching Gametime on or off through the Games app. These are Motorola-provided interactions and tools, not changes to Android’s identity as the operating system.

Names and paths can vary. For example, Motorola’s page for the motorola razr+ 2025 calls its gaming tools Moto Play and directs users to Moto > Play to turn games on. That model-specific example does not establish that other Motorola phones use the same name or interface.
What remains Android
Android is still the operating system. My UX is Motorola’s experience around it: selected interface choices, gestures, and tools sit alongside Android’s own system features. Motorola’s guide for the motorola edge 2025, for example, separates its Android 15 changes from its phone-personalization and Moto sections.

Android changes are a separate layer
In that edge 2025 guide, examples of Android 15 additions include screen recording, higher-contrast settings, app archiving, the option to change Back and Recents order in three-button navigation, and choosing audio output while a Bluetooth device remains connected. These are examples for the documented phone and software context, not a promise that every Motorola device has the same options.
Nor does “My UX” mean the screen or every feature will stay fixed. Motorola notes that software updates may change the Home screen’s appearance. Android-version features and Motorola-specific controls can both evolve as software changes.

Why features and instructions differ by phone
Motorola publishes instructions for particular models, and its Android 15 guide warns that apps and features can vary by model, carrier, or region. A gesture, setting name, gaming tool, or menu path shown for one device may be absent or different on another. Check the guide or support page for your exact model and software version when a control does not match these examples.

Motorola distinguishes Android OS updates from security updates. To check eligibility and dates, it directs owners to the software-update page for their country. Its guidance says rollout timing can differ because Motorola supports many models, regions, and software versions, and because updates may involve carrier certification, independent testing, and changes requested by partners. There is no single update timetable established for every Motorola phone or for My UX as a whole.
