The company says it will appeal; the exchange filing describes a demand, not a final finding that ideaForge owes the amount. How much is the ideaForge GST demand?
In its 2 October 2026 exchange disclosure, ideaForge Technology Limited reported a tax demand of INR 545.86 million, or ₹54.586 crore, and a separate penalty of the same amount. Added together, the disclosed tax and penalty total INR 1,091.72 million, or ₹109.172 crore, before any separately stated interest. As summarized in the company’s filing, the authority alleged that ideaForge wrongly applied a 5% GST rate under Schedule I, entry 244, resulting in a short payment at a differential rate of 13 percentage points. That is the authority’s allegation as recorded by the company, not an independently established finding in the available disclosure.
What is ideaForge’s position, and will it appeal?
ideaForge says the government clarified in 2025 that the GST rate for drones is 5%. The filing does not identify or reproduce that clarification, give its date, or explain how the company says it applies to the earlier January 2022–March 2024 period. The company said it would file an appeal with the appropriate authority in consultation with its tax advisors and said it expects a favourable outcome. Those are ideaForge’s stated plans and expectations; the disclosure says an appeal would be filed, not that it had already been filed. It does not establish whether an appeal or stay followed.
