Here are the official details—and what the store listings do not establish—about progression, pets, platforms, and PC requirements.
How does progression work in Pets Survivors?
The game has two progression layers. During a run, defeating monsters earns experience; leveling up presents choices that improve a weapon, a special ability, or the pet. Those choices shape the build for that attempt. The Steam listing describes the options as supporting different builds and playstyles, but does not provide a complete upgrade catalog or identify an objectively strongest combination. Steam Store
Between stages, Nintendo says coins collected in a successful run can be banked and spent on permanent perks. The reviewed store descriptions do not specify perk costs, stat changes, upgrade caps, or whether every perk applies equally to every pet. What happens during a run?
- Choose a pet, starting weapon, and unlocked area. Nintendo describes 14 playable pets, each with unique skills and stats, and a choice of starting weapon. The listing does not explain how areas unlock.
- Fight waves and gain experience. Keep distance from danger as you defeat monsters and collect experience.
- Choose a level-up improvement. Steam identifies the weapon, special ability, and pet as the core upgrade branches. The descriptions do not publish exact effects or a priority order.
- Prepare for the boss encounter. Nintendo’s overview places a boss after the waves, but does not detail boss mechanics.
- If the run succeeds, bank coins for permanent perks. Spend them between stages; the store listing does not give the perk menu or precise banking rules.
This is a high-level outline from official store descriptions, not a verified optimal strategy guide. Your documented comparison points are the pet’s skills and stats, your weapon choice, and whether a level-up improves your weapon, ability, or pet. No published numerical evidence in these listings supports ranking one pet, weapon, or build as best.

How many pets and starting weapons are there?
Nintendo’s official product description states that the game offers 14 playable pets and a dozen starting weapons. Nintendo also describes the pets as having unique skills and stats. These are the counts given by the listing checked on October 4, 2026; they are store specifications, not an independent count, and should not automatically be assumed to hold after later updates. Which platforms list Pets Survivors?
The official store pages reviewed list the game for Windows PC on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, and Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Xbox. Availability and purchase options can vary by region, so check the current storefront for your location.

Steam lists these minimum requirements for the PC version:

Is a controller required?
Nintendo names the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller as compatible with the Switch version. Its listing does not say a controller is required or offers a gameplay advantage. The other reviewed store descriptions do not establish an equivalent accessory requirement for their platforms. Nintendo listing
