Picus Security announced on September 19, 2024, that it had closed a $45 million growth investment round led by Riverwood Capital, with participation from existing investor Earlybird Digital East Fund. Picus said the investment brought its total funds raised to $80 million. The announcement did not disclose a company valuation or detailed deal terms.
Who invested in Picus Security?
Riverwood Capital led the round, and Earlybird Digital East Fund participated as an existing investor, according to Picus’s September 19, 2024 announcement. Picus described the financing as a growth investment round.
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Form D index records Picus Security, Inc. as a filer, with a filing and acceptance date of September 26, 2024. That filing context does not, by itself, establish the announced round amount, lead investor, valuation, or transaction terms. A U.S. Department of Commerce SelectUSA Invest in Türkiye summary published September 30, 2024 also reported the $45 million round and the two investors.
What do the funding figures establish?
Picus reported that it raised $45 million in the round and had raised $80 million in total after the investment. Those are company-reported funding figures, not a disclosed valuation. The announcement did not state revenue, profitability, ownership changes, or other detailed financial terms; none can be inferred from the amount raised or the Form D index record.

How did Picus say it would use the investment?
The company said it planned to use the funding for product innovation and to expand customer success, sales, and marketing. At the time of the announcement, Picus also reported having more than 500 enterprise customers worldwide. That is a contemporaneous company-reported count, not a verified current customer total.
What does Picus Security do?
Picus described its platform as combining automated penetration testing, Breach and Attack Simulation (BAS), and security-rule validation. The company said it correlates exposure data from tools that may otherwise be siloed, helping security teams prioritize, validate, and address gaps. Its announcement named the Picus Exposure Data Fabric and Picus Risk Dashboard as parts of that offering.
These are Picus’s descriptions of its products and intended use, not independent findings that the platform delivers a particular security outcome. CEO and co-founder H. Alper Memis framed the company’s development as an evolution from BAS into automated penetration testing and detection-rule validation, and described its ambition to lead the Adversarial Exposure Validation category. That category positioning is the CEO’s view.

Joe De Pinho, a Riverwood Capital partner and Picus board member, said: “By taking a fresh, open approach to continuous threat exposure management, Picus’ platform empowers organizations to better understand cyber risks and be proactive against bad actors.” This is an investor endorsement, not independent evidence of a measured security result.
