Does this fighting game have crossplay? What to check
“Crossplay” means players on different platforms can play together online. It does not mean every version of a game connects to every other version. Before buying or inviting friends, verify these details on the publisher’s current support page:
- Exact platform and storefront: look for your console generation and, on PC, the specific store. For example, Mortal Kombat 11 connects Xbox with Microsoft Store Windows, but not with Steam PC.
- Account and setting requirements: a title may require linked publisher accounts, an installed update and crossplay enabled.
- Supported modes: crossplay may apply to ranked or casual matchmaking, private matches, or only particular lobbies.
- PC eligibility: check for any performance or system benchmark that can prevent PC-to-console matchmaking.
How to enable crossplay in Mortal Kombat 1
- Install the crossplay patch and link your WB Games Account to the account you use on your console or PC.
- From the main menu, open Settings > Online > Enable Krossplay and turn it on.
- Invite friends through the WB Games friends list or use a supported online mode: Ranked Kombat League, Kasual Versus matchmaking, King of the Hill lobbies or private matches.
WB Games says a PC player who does not meet the game’s online benchmark cannot use cross-platform matchmaking against PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players. The support requirements can change with patches, so consult the current Krossplay support page if an option is missing or matchmaking fails.
Can PS5 and Xbox players play together? Can PC play with console?
Yes, in the games that explicitly support those connections. TEKKEN 8 lists PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam PC for online cross-play. Mortal Kombat 1 connects PS5 and Xbox Series X|S with PC versions from Steam and Epic, subject to its account, setting, patch and PC benchmark requirements. THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV lists PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Windows 10, Steam and Epic for cross-platform play.

Does crossplay mean cross-progression?
No. Crossplay lets players on different platforms play together; cross-progression is the sharing of eligible progress between platforms. Mortal Kombat 1 supports both across its listed platforms, with a linked WB Games Account required. Support for one feature does not establish support for the other in a different game.

Do you need a console subscription to play online?
For Mortal Kombat 1, WB’s official FAQ says PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass Core is required for online multiplayer on the respective console. The FAQ separately says those subscriptions are not required simply to play offline on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. Check the game and platform’s current terms for other titles.
