Two individual results uploaded in August 2026 report different figures; neither is a controlled test of every Pixel 9, and the available evidence does not verify an original pre-release “early benchmark cameo.”
What Geekbench scores were recorded for the Pixel 9?
Two inspected individual submissions identify the Pixel 9, Tensor G4 and Android 17. They were uploaded on different dates and ran different Geekbench versions:
| Geekbench version | Upload date | Single-core score | Multi-core score | What the record represents |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 6.7.1 | August 14, 2026 | 1663 | 3365 | An individual user-submitted result |
| 7.0.0 | August 9, 2026 | 1491 | 4173 | An individual user-submitted result |
These are benchmark scores, not percentages or direct measures of how fast every app will feel. Geekbench’s Pixel 9 device chart also displays aggregate figures of 1383 single-core and 3786 multi-core for Geekbench 6. Those chart values summarize user submissions and can change; they are not the same thing as either dated individual result.
Can you compare Geekbench 6 and Geekbench 7 scores?
No. Keep the versions separate: Geekbench labels version 6 a legacy version and recommends comparing its results only with other Geekbench 6 results. The Geekbench 6 and 7 figures above come from different benchmark versions, so their numerical differences do not establish that the phone became faster or slower.

What does a Pixel 9 Geekbench score tell you?
Single-core and multi-core are separate test results, so compare like with like. A meaningful comparison should also align the benchmark version, device and software state, and whether the number comes from one submission or an aggregate chart. The available records identify Android 17 on the two inspected submissions, but they do not establish matched testing conditions across runs.
Geekbench says its chart data comes from user-submitted results. A submitted score is therefore an example of a recorded run, not a controlled device-wide finding or a guarantee of everyday performance.

Do these results prove Tensor G4 is faster than Tensor G3?
No controlled Tensor G3-versus-Tensor G4 comparison is established here. The Pixel 9 records identify Tensor G4, but without a comparable G3 result tested under aligned conditions, these figures cannot answer which chip is faster.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Was this an early, pre-release benchmark cameo?
The inspected benchmark records were uploaded on August 9 and August 14, 2026. They do not verify the original pre-release report suggested by “early benchmark cameo,” so the scores are best described as dated Geekbench examples rather than evidence of an early leak.
