In a slide attributed to an AMD presentation in China, Ryzen 7 9800X3D with a GeForce RTX 5080 and Ryzen 9 9950X3D with a GeForce RTX 5090 reportedly reached 1,000 FPS in all six games shown. The Ryzen 7 9800X3D with Radeon RX 9070 XT reportedly crossed that mark in only two. These are reported promotional results, not independently reproduced benchmarks or results confirmed on a public AMD benchmark page.
Which combinations reportedly reached 1,000 FPS?
HotHardware reported the following results from a circulated slide attributed to an AMD China presentation. The figures refer to selected esports games, not a general guarantee for these components.
| CPU and GPU | Reported games at 1,000 FPS | What the report indicates |
|---|---|---|
| Ryzen 7 9800X3D + Radeon RX 9070 XT | 2 of 6 | The AMD CPU-and-GPU pairing reached the threshold in two games, according to HotHardware. |
| Ryzen 7 9800X3D + GeForce RTX 5080 | 6 of 6 | HotHardware reported the threshold in all six games. |
| Ryzen 9 9950X3D + GeForce RTX 5090 | 6 of 6 | HotHardware reported the threshold in all six games. |
The reported comparison therefore does not show the RX 9070 XT pairing matching the two GeForce pairings across the full game set. It also does not establish which combination offers better value: the available reports do not provide a complete price/performance comparison or independent replication.
What test conditions were reported?
TechSpot described the setup as Windows 11 version 24H2 at 1,920 × 1,080 resolution, with memory running at 6,000 MT/s CL30. It also reported that Virtualization-Based Security (VBS) and AMD Smart Access Memory were disabled. These conditions matter: the reported FPS should not be generalized to other resolutions, settings, system configurations, or ordinary live matches.

- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Which games were included?
The published accounts do not agree on the games they name. HotHardware lists Counter-Strike 2, Marvel Rivals, Overwatch 2, PUBG, and Valorant. TechSpot lists Counter-Strike 2, Valorant, League of Legends, PUBG, and Naraka: Bladepoint. Both say the slide covered six games, but the original slide was not available in the reporting reviewed here to resolve the difference. Neither list should be treated as a definitive transcription of all six titles.
How much should you read into a 1,000 FPS claim?
It is a reported slide, not a verified benchmark result
HotHardware described the slide as an image posted online and attributed to an AMD presentation in China. The specific results were not independently verified against a public AMD benchmark page in the cited coverage. No AMD quotation confirming these figures is available in the reports. Treat them as marketing claims reported by news outlets, rather than as independently reproduced measurements.

FPS is not the same as what a display can show
A game producing 1,000 frames per second does not mean a monitor displays 1,000 distinct updates per second. HotHardware noted in September 2025 that a 1,000 Hz monitor was not then available to purchase; that is a publication-era observation, not a statement about current availability. The reports also do not establish that the result reflects typical play. TechSpot framed the test as esports-focused and observed that most everyday gamers are unlikely to need rates near four figures.
Image quality and performance involve tradeoffs
AMD’s Radeon settings guidance explains that higher visual quality can reduce FPS and describes settings for balancing image quality and performance, including frame-rate limiting. That general driver advice provides context; it does not validate the 1,000 FPS slide.
