To stop accidental Camera Control presses, open Settings > Accessibility > Camera Control and turn Camera Control off. If you want to keep the shortcut, require a double click, disable only the light-press or swipe gestures, or assign no app to the button.
Choose the fix that matches what is happening

Turn off Camera Control completely
- Open Settings.
- Tap Accessibility, then Camera Control.
- Turn off Camera Control.
This is the most direct option if you do not use the control and want to prevent it from launching Camera or another assigned app.
Keep the shortcut but make it harder to trigger
Require a double click
- Open Settings > Camera > Camera Control.
- Select Double Click instead of Single Click.
This keeps the camera shortcut available but adds a deliberate second click before the assigned app opens.
Stop clicks from opening an app
- Go to Settings > Camera > Camera Control.
- Set the assigned app to None.
Apple lists Camera, Code Scanner, Magnifier, and None as assignment options. With None selected, clicking the control opens no app.

Disable the adjustment gestures, not the button
Camera Control can launch the camera and, in the appropriate camera mode, take a photo with another click or start video recording with a click-and-hold. A light double press opens an overlay of camera settings; available controls vary by mode and can include Exposure, Depth, Zoom, Cameras, Styles, and Tone. If accidental adjustments are the problem but you still want to use the camera shortcut, change only the relevant gestures.
- Open Settings > Accessibility > Camera Control.
- Turn off Light-Press to prevent its light-press gesture from opening camera controls such as Zoom or Depth.
- Turn off Swipe if sliding on the control is causing unwanted navigation or adjustments.
You can turn off either gesture or both. Disabling them leaves other Camera Control actions available.

Adjust the pressure or timing instead
If you use light-press gestures but trigger them unintentionally, open Settings > Accessibility > Camera Control and adjust Light-Press Force and/or Double Light-Press Speed. Apple provides a practice gesture in settings so you can try the configured light press after changing the force.
