As of October 4, 2026, NVIDIA’s public RTX 50 lineup lists no SUPER models, while third-party reports conflict over whether the rumored cards are on track, delayed, or on hold. The public evidence does not settle NVIDIA’s plans.
What NVIDIA has—and has not—confirmed
NVIDIA’s public GeForce RTX 50-series lineup lists the RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5070, RTX 5060 Ti, RTX 5060, and RTX 5050, with buying options for the listed products. It does not include an RTX 50 SUPER model. That establishes what NVIDIA is publicly listing, not whether it has privately canceled or plans to release an unannounced product.
NVIDIA’s January 6, 2025 launch announcement said the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 would be available from January 30, 2025, followed by the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 in February 2025. Those dates were for the original RTX 50-series launch, not a SUPER refresh. NVIDIA’s launch release also described the RTX 5090 as having 92 billion transistors and more than 3,352 trillion AI operations per second; neither figure provides evidence about a rumored refresh. The reports do not add up to a confirmed release window or cancellation. The CES 2027 timing and the reported hold are both claims attributed to outside sources; the “back on track” statement came from a leaker. None is NVIDIA’s position.

What is known about rumored specifications
The July report described rumored capacities of 24GB for the RTX 5080 SUPER and RTX 5070 Ti SUPER, and 18GB for the RTX 5070 SUPER. These are unverified specifications, not announced products. Do not use them as firm buying criteria or assume the cards will ship in those configurations. (Tom’s Hardware report; PC Gamer report)
Should you buy an RTX 50 card or wait?
Decide based on the card you can actually buy and the work you need it to do, rather than a SUPER date that NVIDIA has not announced. The RTX 50 lineup page provides buying options for its listed models, but prices and stock vary by region and can change.

- Buy now if: you need a graphics card soon, and an available RTX 50 model meets your performance, memory, and budget requirements. Compare local prices and stock before choosing.
- Consider waiting if: your current card is adequate and you are comfortable waiting without a confirmed launch date, final specifications, or assurance that a SUPER model will appear.
- Set a decision point: decide how long you are willing to wait and what price or performance would justify an upgrade. Revisit the choice if NVIDIA makes an announcement or reliable reporting materially changes the picture.
A rumored CES 2027 window is not a dependable reason on its own to postpone a purchase. If you wait, do so because your existing setup can carry you—not because a specific release date or memory configuration is guaranteed.
