Dell says its Pro 7 Rechargeable Compact Keyboard and Mouse (KM746) can deliver a full day of use after a five-second charge. That is Dell’s product claim, not an independently confirmed test result, and the listing does not define how many hours “a full day” means.
Which Dell keyboard and mouse has the five-second charge claim?
It is the Dell Pro 7 Rechargeable Compact Keyboard and Mouse, model KM746. Dell’s US listing identifies it as a keyboard-and-mouse bundle; the US manufacturer part number is F05J2. Check Dell’s KM746 listing for current availability and regional details.
Dell’s feature copy says, “Turbo charge in just five seconds for a full day’s use.” The phrase “full day” is not tied to a specific number of hours on the product page, so it should not be read as a quantified runtime guarantee. HotHardware reported the claim in March 2026, but its article is secondary reporting, not a published independent test of charging performance. Read HotHardware’s coverage.
How long does Dell say a full charge lasts?
Dell lists maximum runtimes of up to three months for the keyboard and 1.5 months for the mouse on a full charge. Those are manufacturer-stated “up to” figures; the product listing does not establish typical-use results or the conditions behind them.

What does it use for charging?
Dell describes the keyboard and mouse as rechargeable supercapacitor devices and notes that no conventional battery is included. HotHardware likewise reports that the set uses supercapacitors rather than alkaline or lithium-ion cells. The reviewed sources do not establish additional claims about lifespan, charge cycles, or performance versus battery-powered alternatives.
The charging interface is USB-C. Dell lists a USB-C-to-USB-C charging cable in the box, alongside the keyboard and mouse, a Dell Secure Link USB receiver, and documentation.

Is the KM746 a good fit for your setup?
The bundle offers Bluetooth 6.0 and a USB Type-A receiver for wireless connectivity. The compact US-English keyboard has quiet, low-profile scissor keys, while the mouse supports up to 6000 DPI. Dell lists a three-year limited hardware warranty with Advanced Exchange Service.
- Consider it if you want a compact keyboard-and-mouse set, quiet low-profile keys, and the choice of Bluetooth or a USB-A receiver.
- Check before buying if you need a different keyboard layout, a USB-C receiver instead of USB-A, or detailed information about the conditions behind the runtime claims.
- For Dell software, the listing states that Dell Display and Peripheral Manager requires Windows 10 or Windows 11. Dell’s technical specifications also include Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 as compatibility entries; that should not be taken to mean the manager software supports those older versions.
What does it cost?
Dell’s US product page displayed a price of $94.99 when accessed October 4, 2026. Prices and stock can change, so confirm the current listing and the exact keyboard layout before ordering.
