Moonland was described as a blockchain-based multiplayer gaming project where players could customize avatars and explore virtual cities. That description comes from a Moonland-authored article published on HackerNoon on March 8, 2023; a separate OKX announcement on June 10, 2024 later outlined wallet and game features. Neither source confirms that Moonland Meta is playable or that those features remain available today.
What is the Moonland Metaverse?
In its March 8, 2023 article, “Meet the Moonland Metaverse”, Moonland presented the project as a social multiplayer gaming platform built around blockchain. The article described a world of personalized avatars and virtual cities, and said the project was being built on Ethereum, Binance Chain and Qtum.
That is a historical project description, not confirmation of a currently operating game. The article also reported that Moonland had built a playable demo in less than a year, developed a character-creator studio, created more than 10,000 NFTs, and received a $250,000 fund from Qtum to build and integrate the platform with Qtum’s NFT ecosystem. These are claims reported in the project-authored article, not independently verified current milestones.
Was Moonland Meta a game?
A later announcement gives a more game-specific description. On June 10, 2024, OKX said its wallet supported Moonland Meta and called it a free-to-play online RPG using Unreal Engine 5. Moonland’s 2023 article had also said its building team moved from Unity to Unreal Engine 5. These dated descriptions establish how the project was presented at the time, not whether it launched or remains available.

How did Moonland describe its NFTs and wallet features?
According to OKX’s June 10, 2024 announcement, wallet integration was intended to let users connect a wallet, customize characters, mint characters as NFTs, and trade them with other players. OKX also described 13 social multiplayer mini-games and an in-game economy involving NFTs and Mooncoin, the project’s stated native cryptocurrency.
Those details are announcement claims tied to the 2024 integration. They do not show that wallet support, trading, the mini-games or the economy are still accessible, nor do they establish current token availability or value.

What other Moonland project was reported?
Cyberport’s 2023/24 annual report says Hang Seng Bank commissioned Moonland Metaverse to develop a metaverse business banking centre. The report records the commission but does not establish that the centre launched, describe what it contained, or say whether it is operating now.

Current playability is not established by these sources. The March 2023 article reported a playable demo, and OKX announced wallet support in June 2024, but neither confirms present access to the game or continued wallet integration. Treat references to the demo and announced features as historical unless a current official Moonland source confirms availability.
