Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsA slow or glitchy original Xbox game is not automatically a PS5 compatibility problem: an original Xbox emulator and a PS5 emulator are different kinds of software. The available details do not establish a supported way to run original Xbox games inside a PS5 emulator. If you mean an emulator such as xemu, its documentation says results vary by host system and game, so the specific setup and symptom matter.
First, clarify what “PS5 emulator” means
xemu emulates the original Microsoft Xbox. Its official project page lists Windows, macOS, and Linux as supported platforms: xemu. That is not the same as software that emulates a PlayStation 5. The sources available here do not establish a supported route for running original Xbox games inside a PS5 emulator, so the phrase alone is not enough to identify the setup or explain its behavior.

Sony’s guidance on playing supported PS4 games on PS5 consoles concerns backward compatibility within PlayStation; it does not document original Xbox game support: PS5 backward compatibility.
Why an original Xbox game might run slowly or glitch
There is no single cause that can be diagnosed from the title of the problem. xemu says game performance varies with the characteristics of the host system and remains subject to change: xemu. Its FAQ also lists several possible reasons a game may fail, including system issues, a corrupted cache, a bad disc dump, or a compatibility regression: xemu FAQ.

Individual reports in xemu’s issue tracker describe very slow gameplay, slow motion, and audio or video glitches. Those reports show that some title-specific problems have been encountered; they do not prove that every game or setup has the same issue: xemu issue tracker.
What to check before troubleshooting
Gather details that let you compare your case with the emulator’s own guidance and per-game reports:
Rank #2
- Great condition, comes with 5 games, a remote and receiver to play DVD's, and all necessary cords.
- The exact Xbox game and its region.
- The emulator’s name and version.
- The host device’s operating system and hardware.
- The emulator settings you are using.
- The precise symptom: low speed, slow motion, distorted audio or video, a crash, or failure to boot.
Then consult the emulator’s troubleshooting guidance and compatibility reports for that title. Without those specifics, the available documentation does not support a particular diagnosis or a promise that changing a setting or hardware component will fix the problem.
