The Radeon RX 7900 XT PCB illustration is an unofficial, insider-informed view of a possible board layout—not an AMD schematic or a verified retail teardown. It can help orient readers to the card’s likely functional zones, but it does not establish the exact parts, counts, or routing on production cards.
What the RX 7900 XT PCB illustration depicts
The illustration presents approximate areas for the GPU package, surrounding memory, voltage regulation and power delivery, auxiliary power inputs, display connectors, and components along the board edge. These placements should be read as what the drawing suggests, not as confirmed positions on every RX 7900 XT.
The image associates the card with 20 GB of GDDR6. AMD independently lists that memory capacity, but the illustration’s apparent number and arrangement of memory packages remain interpretations unless verified against a specific retail PCB. The article presenting the drawing also cautions that controller choices, component counts, routing, and final production revisions are not established by it. Which RX 7900 XT specifications are confirmed?
AMD’s product page lists the RX 7900 XT with 20 GB GDDR6, 80 MB of Infinity Cache, and memory bandwidth of up to 800 GB/s. It also lists DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, and USB Type-C. These are product specifications; they do not validate the component placements in an unofficial drawing. AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT specifications

AMD lists a reference-card length of 276 mm and a 2.5-slot form factor. For its reference configuration, AMD recommends a 750 W or greater power supply with 12V output above 62A, while noting that system requirements may differ. A specific partner card may have different dimensions or requirements, so check that model’s own specifications before planning a build.
What has been observed on a reference card?
ComputerBase’s examination of AMD reference cards, updated December 12, 2022, reports two 8-pin power inputs and a standard total board power (TBP) of 315 W for the RX 7900 XT. It gives the examined card’s dimensions as 28 cm long and 11.5 cm high, with a 2.5-slot cooler. Those details describe the reference hardware examined by ComputerBase; they should not be generalized to every board from AMD’s partners. ComputerBase’s RX 7900 XT and XTX reference-card analysis

- Axial-tech fans now feature a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- Phase-change GPU thermal pad helps ensure optimal heat transfer, lowering GPU temperatures for enhanced performance and reliability
- 2.5-slot design allows for greater build compatibility while maintaining cooling performance
- Dual-ball fan bearings last up to twice as long as standard conventional sleeve bearings designs
- 0dB technology lets you enjoy light gaming in relative silence
ComputerBase notes that the XT PCB is slightly shorter than the XTX PCB, but its cited passage does not give further XT PCB layout details. That observation is not enough to confirm the positions or component choices shown in an earlier insider-informed illustration.
How to read the drawing without overclaiming
- Use it for orientation: It identifies broad functional areas that can help readers understand a graphics-card PCB.
- Treat exact placements as provisional: The illustration does not establish component vendors, exact counts, electrical routing, or production revisions.
- Separate the memory specification from package-layout claims: AMD confirms 20 GB GDDR6; package count and arrangement in the drawing are not thereby confirmed.
- Distinguish reference from partner cards: Reference-card observations do not prove that a partner model uses the same PCB layout, dimensions, or power connections.
AMD announced the RX 7900 series as RDNA 3 products using a chiplet design. That is useful architectural context, but it does not authenticate this board illustration or resolve its component-level uncertainties. AMD’s November 2022 RX 7900 series announcement

Can the illustration show how the RX 7900 XT differs from the XTX?
Not reliably at the level of detailed PCB layout. Comparisons should stay with published specifications and documented observations for the particular cards being compared. AMD’s product information and ComputerBase’s examination are different kinds of evidence: the former gives current listed specifications, while the latter reports on examined reference hardware. Visual similarity alone cannot establish matching VRM phase counts, component suppliers, or board routing between XT and XTX cards.
