Yes. The original G7 is a wired controller, not a wireless one. A search result for the GameSir G7 user manual lists a 3 m USB-C cable and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The manual page was not directly accessible for verification, so treat those as details reported in its search result. The audio jack may be useful if you connect a compatible headset to the controller; the cable length gives some room to sit back, but it does not remove the tether.

Does the GameSir G7 have clicky buttons?
The original G7 is notable for micro-switch face buttons, which are intended to provide a tactile, clicky action rather than the more conventional-feeling face-button response reported for the G7 SE. What did the original GameSir G7 cost, and is it still available?
Windows Central listed the original G7 and G7 SE at $44.99 in its review-era pricing. That figure is historical, not a current quote. The official GameSir listing surfaced for the G7 HE is $49.99; that price applies to the HE listing, not the original G7. No current original-G7 stock status is established here, so check the exact model, seller and market before buying.

- Consider it if: you want tactile micro-switch face buttons, two remappable rear buttons or a magnetic faceplate, and are comfortable playing over a cable.
- Look elsewhere if: wireless play is important, or grip comfort is your top priority and you prefer the SE’s revised grip as described by Windows Central.
- Check the model carefully: G7, G7 SE and G7 HE have overlapping names and layouts, but their stick sensors, button feel and rear-button features are not interchangeable.
If you need a replacement cable or faceplate, confirm compatibility with the exact controller revision before ordering. GameSir lists a cable for G7/G7 SE/T4 Kaleid, but connector and model fit should still be checked against your device.
