Recommended Free Tools
To run OZARK on PC, Steam lists Windows 7 or 10, a 64-bit processor, 8 GB RAM, a GeForce GTX 780 or Radeon RX 470, DirectX 12, and 10 GB of available storage as the minimum. Its recommended tier calls for Windows 10, an Intel Core i7-4790 or AMD Ryzen 3 3200G, 12 GB RAM, and a GTX 1060 6GB, GTX 1660 Super, or Radeon RX 590. The minimum CPU entry does not name a specific model.
OZARK minimum and recommended PC requirements
The figures below are the requirements on the Steam store listing for OZARK, accessed October 4, 2026. Steam does not state tested resolutions, frame-rate targets, or a performance guarantee for PCs that meet either tier.
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 7 or Windows 10; 64-bit processor and operating system required | Windows 10; 64-bit processor and operating system required |
| Processor | 64-bit processor required; no specific model listed | Intel Core i7-4790 or AMD Ryzen 3 3200G |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM | 12 GB RAM |
| Graphics | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 or AMD Radeon RX 470 | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB or GTX 1660 Super, or AMD Radeon RX 590 |
| DirectX | Version 12 | Version 12 |
| Storage | 10 GB available space | 10 GB available space |
What changes between minimum and recommended?
The recommended tier raises memory from 8 GB to 12 GB and provides named processor models where the minimum tier gives no CPU model. It also lists newer or more powerful graphics-card options. DirectX 12 and 10 GB of available storage are the same in both tiers.
These are published specification tiers, not measured performance results. Meeting the minimum does not establish a particular frame rate, resolution, or visual setting; Steam publishes no benchmark methodology or target for those outcomes.

Does OZARK run on Windows 7?
Steam’s game requirements list Windows 7 or Windows 10 for the minimum operating system. Separately, the same listing says: “Starting January 1st, 2024, the Steam Client will only support Windows 10 and later versions.” The Windows 7 entry for the game does not guarantee that the current Steam Client will work on Windows 7 for purchasing, installing, launching, or updating it. For the client compatibility statement, see the Steam listing.
How to check whether your PC meets the requirements
- Check Windows and system type. In Windows, open Settings > System > About and check the Windows edition and System type. The listed tiers require a 64-bit processor and operating system.
- Check your processor and memory. In Settings > System > About, review the processor and installed RAM. Compare the CPU with the recommended models if you want to assess the recommended tier; Steam does not specify a minimum CPU model beyond requiring a 64-bit processor.
- Identify your graphics card. Open Task Manager with Ctrl+Shift+Esc, choose Performance, and select GPU. Compare the model shown with the listed minimum or recommended cards.
- Check DirectX support. Press Windows+R, enter
dxdiag, and press Enter. Review the DirectX version and graphics details; the requirement is DirectX 12. - Confirm free storage. In File Explorer, open This PC and check that the drive where you plan to install the game has at least 10 GB available.
What is OZARK?
Steam describes OZARK as “a dark, story-driven 2.5D indie action horror game made for a short, intense playthrough.” The listing characterizes it as a side-scrolling action game with solo play and couch co-op for one or two local players; online co-op is through Steam Remote Play. Steam estimates a 3–6 hour playthrough, which is the store’s estimate rather than an independently measured duration. The listing also flags frequent violence or gore and general mature content.
