If a Google Sheets integration is not syncing in Datarails, start in Integrations and inspect the affected data source and Integration Filebox. Then open the exact error, confirm you have access to both the Filebox and the connected sheet, and use a Test Sync to validate a corrected setup before running a normal sync. Datarails’ documented statuses help distinguish a failed sync from data that synced but still needs mapping.
What a Datarails–Google Sheets sync does
Datarails can bring Google Sheets data into the platform for automated reports and dashboards. The imported data appears on a version tab and can then be mapped to the Datarails database like another data source. Datarails also says comments are removed before upload. Because the workflow has distinct stages—source connection, Filebox sync, and mapping—“not syncing” can describe different problems. Check the status and error for the specific source and Filebox rather than assuming every issue has the same cause.
Check the integration and Filebox status
- Open Integrations: In Datarails, open Integrations from the setup panel.
- Review Data Sources: Check the source-level status to see whether the last sync completed, failed, or has not run or is disabled.
- Inspect Integration Fileboxes: Open the Filebox connected to the Google Sheet. Check its sync status, last-synced information, and Data Status.
- Identify the stage: Datarails distinguishes data that synced successfully from data that is unmapped and from mapping failures. A successful source sync does not by itself mean that the data is mapped and ready for use.

Open the exact sync error
Select the error badge or the affected Filebox to see its details. Datarails says the error details include the data source, a description, resolution steps, and the last sync date. You can also look under Integration Status on the Home Page. Follow the resolution shown for your specific error; the available documentation does not identify one universal cause or fix for Google Sheets sync failures. Confirm access to both the Filebox and Google Sheet
Datarails requires access to the Integration Filebox as well as its connected data source. If you can see the Filebox but cannot sync, ask the data-source owner or an administrator to grant the access you need, or use the access-request workflow available in your account. Repeated retries will not resolve a missing permission.

Check the sheet connection, mapping, and sync settings
- Confirm that the Filebox is connected to the intended Google Sheet.
- Review whether the Filebox mapping still matches the sheet’s current structure.
- Check the configured sync settings and the mapper state for a reported mapping failure or unmapped data.
- If the source selection or sheet structure changed, use the Filebox’s error details to guide the correction rather than applying an unrelated fix.

Use Test Sync before committing a change
From the Integrations screen, you can target a sync. Datarails describes Test Sync as fetching and validating data without writing it to the Filebox. Use it to check a changed configuration; when the data is ready to update the Filebox, run a normal Sync. Datarails’ Integrations screen guide

Account for sync timing when data looks stale
Datarails documents manual and scheduled syncs generally, and says the Google Sheets integration can use change-detected incremental syncing. The documentation does not establish a universal refresh interval for Google Sheets, so it does not support promising that an edit will appear immediately or within a set number of minutes. Check the Filebox’s last-synced information and the configured sync behavior before treating an unchanged value as a sync failure. Include the exact error text, Filebox and source names, the last successful or attempted sync time, and the steps you have already tried. Add a screenshot or screen recording if it helps show the status or error.
