Bookmarks and passwords also have file-based fallback options, but password transfer depends on browser support. These instructions are for desktop Vivaldi; available options can vary by operating system, installation type, and browser version.
Import Chrome data through Vivaldi’s import dialog

In desktop Vivaldi, open Vivaldi menu > File > Import from Applications or Files.

Select Google Chrome from the browser list.

Select the data types the dialog offers, then choose Start Import.

Check the imported items in Vivaldi before removing or resetting data in Chrome.

Vivaldi’s import guide says bookmarks can be brought in from another browser or a bookmarks HTML file. Other data, such as passwords and history, may be available depending on the source browser. Select only the options actually shown in your import dialog.
What can transfer from Chrome?
Bookmarks
Try the built-in Chrome import first. If Chrome is not listed or the bookmarks do not come through, import a bookmarks HTML file using Vivaldi menu > File > Import from Applications or Files. Select the HTML-file option, choose the file, and start the import.

Passwords
Close Chrome completely before attempting browser-to-browser password import. In the import dialog, select the password option if it appears. Vivaldi notes that password import is not possible from every browser, so the option may be unavailable and a successful transfer is not guaranteed.
If the direct option is unavailable, Vivaldi documents importing passwords from a CSV file at vivaldi:password-manager/settings. Open that address in Vivaldi, find Import passwords, choose a file, and open the exported CSV. Vivaldi warns that passwords in a CSV are visible to anyone who can access the file. Keep it in a private location only for the transfer, verify the imported passwords, and then remove the CSV.

Settings and other browser data
Choose any relevant data types shown in the import dialog, but do not assume it will reproduce all Chrome preferences or browser state. Vivaldi’s guide says additional data may be available depending on the source, but it does not provide a complete Chrome-to-Vivaldi map of settings. The documentation does not establish that extensions, cookies, or site state will transfer.
Choose a file fallback when direct import is unavailable

Vivaldi’s import and export documentation and password manager guide describe these routes. The exact menu text and available data types may differ across operating systems, installation types, and Vivaldi versions; the desktop guides do not provide a full compatibility matrix.

If the import does not work

Chrome does not appear: use the HTML fallback for bookmarks, or the documented CSV route for passwords if your Vivaldi version offers it.

Password import is missing: close Chrome and check the import dialog again. If it remains unavailable, use CSV import if available, and treat the exported file as sensitive.

Some settings are missing: the documentation does not promise that every Chrome preference or piece of site data transfers. Review the actual choices and results in Vivaldi rather than assuming a full profile copy.
A raw browser-profile copy is not a recommended routine migration method. Vivaldi recommends Sync and its in-browser import/export features for moving Vivaldi data between Vivaldi installations, and warns that moving a profile between computers or users does not transfer saved passwords and cookies.
