The ASUS Chromebox 5 (CN67) is a compact ChromeOS desktop with a notably broad selection of ports and manufacturer-rated support for up to four 4K displays. Its appeal depends on the exact configuration: ASUS lists Core and Celeron processors, differing memory limits and power adapters, and an optional Qi wireless charger. This is a specification-based review; no independent hands-on performance, noise, or thermal testing is established here.
What the ASUS Chromebox 5 is—and what this review can establish
Announced by ASUS on March 30, 2023, the Chromebox 5 is the CN67 family of compact ChromeOS desktop computers, aimed by the manufacturer at office, education, and commercial use. ASUS also offers Chrome Enterprise as an option. The product materials establish its configurations and connectivity, but not how it performs in independent benchmark or everyday-use testing.
That distinction matters when weighing a purchase: the listed processor, memory, storage, and display capabilities describe the product family. They do not establish the exact specification, price, warranty, or accessories of a particular regional retail listing.
Which ASUS Chromebox 5 configuration should you choose?
ASUS’s brochure lists four processor choices. The Core versions have two memory slots and a higher listed memory ceiling than the Celeron version; the graphics also vary by processor. Confirm the precise processor and installed RAM on the retailer’s SKU page rather than assuming every CN67 has the same parts.

| Intel Celeron 7305 | Intel UHD | 1 DDR4-3200 SO-DIMM slot; up to 16 GB | 65 W |
These are ASUS family specifications, not a guarantee that every processor or memory combination is sold in every region. ASUS also lists M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe storage in 128 GB, 256 GB, or 512 GB configurations. Check the exact retail configuration for installed capacity; the brochure does not establish aftermarket replacement compatibility or instructions.
Can the Chromebox 5 run four monitors?
ASUS specifies support for up to four 4K displays, using the two HDMI ports, DisplayPort 1.4, and Thunderbolt 4. Its stated output for each connection is 3840 × 2160 at 60 Hz. These are manufacturer specifications, not an independent test of four simultaneous displays or of every combination of monitor timings, cables, and adapters.
| Video connection | ASUS-listed capability |
|---|---|
| HDMI port 1 | 3840 × 2160 at 60 Hz |
| HDMI port 2 | 3840 × 2160 at 60 Hz |
| DisplayPort 1.4 | 4K at 60 Hz |
| Thunderbolt 4 USB-C | 4K at 60 Hz |
Before buying for a multi-monitor desk, match each monitor’s inputs to the Chromebox outputs and check whether your chosen cables or adapters support the required resolution and refresh rate. ASUS specifies the Thunderbolt 4 port at up to 40 Gbps and says it supports USB-C Power Delivery.

Ports, networking, and physical setup
The Chromebox 5 has a wide range of connections for a small desktop. ASUS lists Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth support, plus 2.5 Gb Ethernet for wired networking. Its port layout is as follows:
- Front: two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, a combined audio jack, and a microSD card reader.
- Rear: two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, one Thunderbolt 4 USB-C port, two HDMI ports, DisplayPort 1.4, 2.5 Gb Ethernet, and DC-in.
- Other: a Kensington lock slot and a recovery button.
The chassis measures 166.5 × 165.8 × 45.9 mm, and ASUS lists its weight as 0.8 kg. A VESA mount is listed in the box contents, while the specifications brochure separately describes it as optional. Because those materials do not establish what is included in every market or SKU, verify the seller’s package details before planning a behind-the-monitor installation. ASUS lists the AC adapter, power cord, warranty card, and quick-start guide among box contents; keyboard and mouse are optional.
Does the Chromebox 5 have wireless charging?
It can, but Qi charging is optional rather than a guaranteed feature on every unit. ASUS specifies a WPC-certified Qi charger rated up to 15 W and says it includes foreign-object detection. The company also notes that charging power depends on the receiving device. Confirm that the exact retail configuration includes the charger before treating wireless charging as part of the package.

ChromeOS management, security, and environmental claims
For organizational deployments, ASUS describes management through Google Admin Console and Zero-Touch Enrollment. The product page says Chrome Enterprise management requires a Chrome Enterprise Upgrade license; check current licensing terms with Google or an authorized reseller before budgeting for deployment. ASUS also lists a Titan C security chip and a Kensington lock slot. These are manufacturer-described features, not independent security certifications.
ASUS says the chassis covers use post-consumer recycled plastic: 35% PCR in the top cover and 75% PCR in the bottom cover. It also lists ENERGY STAR certification and FSC-certified packaging. These specifications do not establish the product’s overall environmental impact.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteIs the ASUS Chromebox 5 worth buying?
The strongest documented reasons to consider the CN67 are its multiple video outputs, four-display capability as specified by ASUS, 2.5 Gb Ethernet, Thunderbolt 4, and configuration options spanning Core and Celeron processors. It is a plausible fit for a ChromeOS workstation or managed deployment when those ports and administration features match the intended setup.
A value verdict depends on information that varies by listing and region: current price and stock, exact processor/RAM/SSD configuration, included Qi charger and mounting hardware, peripherals, and warranty. Compare those details before choosing it over another mini PC. ASUS’s specifications alone do not establish a current price-based winner or independent performance advantage.
