If you want a knob where the stereo has none, the best-supported route is a replacement head unit with a built-in physical knob. A separate USB or Bluetooth knob is not guaranteed to work: check that your exact stereo supports the controller before buying.
First decide whether you need a repair or an upgrade
The right fix depends on what you have now. A faulty built-in knob may be a settings or hardware problem; a stereo without a knob calls for a different approach. The title alone does not identify your vehicle or head-unit model, so it cannot establish exact compatibility or fitment.

JOYING’s support instructions address a volume dial that stops working on a particular Android 12 QCM6125 stereo family. The guidance includes checking settings and resistance values, adjusting an error-voltage setting if needed, rebooting after a change, and disconnecting and reconnecting the screen ribbon: JOYING support.
Those steps are not a universal procedure for Android head units. Check your exact unit’s manual or contact its manufacturer before changing hardware settings or handling a screen ribbon. If the instructions do not match your model, do not assume that the same menu, voltage adjustment, or ribbon connection applies.

For a missing knob, consider a replacement stereo with one built in

- Wiring and data interfaces: Ask whether the installation needs a vehicle-specific harness, CAN-bus harness, or data interface, and what each one enables.
- Amplifier integration: Confirm compatibility with a factory amplifier or other audio equipment, if fitted.

Account for vehicle electronics, not just the stereo
Some vehicles use a digital signal network that requires a specific data interface or CANBUS decoder. The required parts and supported functions vary by vehicle and installation, so verify them for your own setup.

What to verify before buying a separate volume knob
A standalone knob may sound like the simplest upgrade, but the available manufacturer information does not establish a USB or Bluetooth knob that works with Android head units generally. Do not infer compatibility from the connector or wireless connection alone.
- Find the exact make and model of your Android head unit.
- Ask its manufacturer or check its documentation whether it supports the specific controller and connection method.
- Confirm that the controller changes the type of volume you need, such as system or media volume.
- Check whether it requires an app, configuration, or another interface, and whether those are supported on your unit.
If the maker cannot confirm those points, a separate controller is an uncertain purchase. A replacement stereo with a built-in knob is a clearer route when you need a physical control and are prepared to verify vehicle fitment.
