Notebookcheck’s reviewed slim NUC 13 Pro Kit paired a Core i7-1360P with 32 GB of DDR4 memory and a 512 GB SSD; its review found strong performance and useful expansion, but only a modest improvement over the preceding NUC 12 Pro. Buyers should verify the exact processor, chassis, memory, storage and operating system included with any kit or preconfigured system.
What system is this review about?
“Arena Canyon” identifies Intel’s NUC13AN family. It is important to distinguish the family’s options from the specific machine tested by a reviewer. Notebookcheck’s test system was a NUC 13 Pro Kit with an Intel Core i7-1360P, 32 GB DDR4-3200 memory, a 512 GB Samsung PM9A1 M.2 NVMe SSD, and the slim NUC13ANK chassis. Notebookcheck’s review does not establish a universal included operating system or retail bundle for the family. Notebookcheck’s review describes its tested configuration and findings.
Other NUC 13 Pro products may be sold barebones, as boards, or as complete mini PCs. A barebones kit may require the buyer to supply memory, storage and an operating system; a configured unit may include some or all of them. TechRadar’s reviewed sample likewise used the i7-1360P with 32 GB DDR4 and a 512 GB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD, but those sample specifications should not be read as the contents of every NUC 13 Pro package. TechRadar’s review discusses the range of barebones and complete configurations.
Which processors and chassis are available?
Processor choices
Intel’s standard NUC13AN product brief lists several processor configurations, including Core i7-1370P with vPro, Core i7-1360P, Core i5-1350P with vPro, Core i5-1340P and Core i3-1315U. The processors are soldered to the board, so select the CPU and any required vPro capability at purchase rather than expecting a later processor upgrade. The separate NUC13LC embedded variants listed in Intel’s technical specification are a different product category and should not be confused with the Arena Canyon desktop kits.

See Intel’s NUC 13 Pro product brief.
Slim and tall chassis
The slim and tall versions differ in height and internal drive capacity. Intel lists dimensions, including feet, of 117 × 112 × 37 mm for the slim chassis and 117 × 112 × 54 mm for the tall chassis. Notebookcheck reports that its slim review kit accommodates up to two storage devices, while the tall chassis adds room for a 2.5-inch drive. Check the exact model suffix and chassis before selecting a drive or planning where to place the PC.

How upgradeable is the NUC 13 Pro?
Memory and storage are the main user-selectable upgrades. Intel’s technical specification documents two 260-pin DDR4 SO-DIMM sockets supporting up to 64 GB of non-ECC memory. The principal storage connector is an M.2 key-M slot for a 2280 PCIe Gen4 NVMe drive. A second M.2 key-B 2242 connector supports a SATA SSD, PCIe x1 device or USB 3.2 expansion. The tall chassis also provides the additional 2.5-inch drive space noted above. Compatibility and physical capacity depend on the particular chassis and configuration.
For a barebones purchase, check whether RAM and an SSD are included and budget for compatible parts if they are not. Confirm the installed OS as well: the review-unit specifications do not establish a standard OS bundle across NUC 13 Pro products. Intel’s technical specifications give the platform-level memory and connector details.

How did the reviewed NUC 13 Pro perform?
Notebookcheck characterized its i7-1360P system as a strong compact office PC, citing strong processor and SSD performance, useful connectivity and practical expansion. Its verdict called the tested system “an exceptionally compact, high-performance office PC.” The performance improvement over the prior NUC 12 Pro was present but fairly modest, so this review supports describing the change as incremental—not as a transformative generational leap. Those conclusions apply to Notebookcheck’s test configuration and workloads, not every NUC 13 Pro SKU.
