Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteTo get Dolby Atmos from a soundbar, connect it to the TV’s HDMI ARC or eARC port, choose an audio output format the soundbar supports, and enable the TV’s Dolby Atmos option if it has one. Then play Atmos-capable content through a compatible TV app or source device. A setting cannot add Atmos support to incompatible hardware or content.
Check the complete Atmos signal path
Atmos playback depends on the TV, soundbar, connection, and content or source device working together. Confirm that both the TV and soundbar support Atmos for the connection you plan to use, and that the programme or source actually provides an Atmos audio track. Samsung and LG both emphasize device and content compatibility in their setup guidance (Samsung; LG).
Use an HDMI cable between the TV port marked ARC or eARC and the soundbar port marked TV-ARC, ARC, or eARC. The exact labels vary. Samsung states that Dolby Atmos works only through HDMI in its soundbar setup guidance; use the manuals for your specific devices to confirm the supported connection.
Choose ARC or eARC based on your equipment
ARC and eARC are not interchangeable capability guarantees. eARC requires support on both the TV and soundbar, the corresponding eARC ports, and a suitable HDMI cable. Samsung’s eARC guidance describes support for high-bitrate Atmos, while Sony lists Dolby Atmos among the pass-through formats for the TV line covered by its guide. Those statements apply to the manufacturers’ respective supported devices, not every TV or soundbar (Samsung eARC guidance; Sony eARC format guide).

Setup takes less than 1 minute.
- Voice Clarity Enhancement: VoiceMX technology uses advanced DSP algorithms to isolate and enhance vocal frequencies in real time. Dialogue remains crisp and easy to follow by separating speech from background effects and music, even at low volumes or during intense scenes.
- 300W Output with 6-Driver System: Featuring five precision-tuned full-range drivers and a dedicated wired wooden subwoofer, the system delivers up to 300W of peak power for bold, room-filling sound. With a frequency response of 45 Hz–18 kHz and a maximum SPL of 99 dB, it reproduces everything from subtle nuances to explosive cinematic effects.
- 18 mm High-Excursion Driver: Powered by BassMX technology, the wired wooden subwoofer features a 18 mm high-excursion driver, a 5.3L tuned cabinet, and a high-density magnetic circuit. This design delivers deeper, tighter bass with greater air displacement and enhanced low-frequency performance—bringing more realism to every scene.
- HDMI eARC for True Dolby Atmos: HDMI eARC supports up to 37 Mbps of bandwidth, unlocking the full potential of lossless Dolby Atmos 5.1-channel audio. Compared to standard ARC, eARC delivers richer surround effects and greater detail. CEC integration allows the TV and soundbar to work together with unified control.
If either device lacks eARC, use ARC only if both devices support ARC and the formats needed for your setup. Check the manuals for the exact model before assuming that an ARC connection will pass through the Atmos format used by your content.

Samsung’s US soundbar instructions give this route: Settings (All Settings) > Sound > Expert Settings > Digital Output Audio Format. The illustrated instructions list Dolby Digital or Auto for the digital-output format and say to ensure Dolby Atmos is on (Samsung US setup guide).
Samsung’s eARC instructions for the Philippines specify HDMI e-ARC Mode: Auto, Digital Output Audio Format: Auto or Pass-Through, and Dolby Atmos Compatibility: On. If the connection does not establish, check that Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) is enabled (Samsung Philippines guide). Menu availability and labels vary by model year.

Samsung Australia also advises turning on eARC and connecting the devices through their eARC ports. Its troubleshooting guidance suggests trying PCM, Auto, or Pass-Through when output is poor, according to the connected device’s format support (Samsung Australia eARC guide). Do not select a format simply because it appears in a menu; use one supported by the soundbar and source.

LG’s additional support guidance says 2021-and-later models running webOS 6.0 or later generally place the option under Advanced Settings, while 2020-and-earlier models generally place it directly in the Sound menu. The option’s availability also depends on the TV model, connected-device capability, and content (LG model-generation guidance).
Sony TVs
Sony’s opened eARC help guide confirms Dolby Atmos as a supported pass-through format for the TV line it covers. It does not establish a universal menu path for all Sony models. Check your TV and soundbar manuals for the appropriate eARC and audio-output settings.

Configure an external player
If you use a Blu-ray player, streaming box, or another device connected to the TV, its audio output matters too. Samsung advises selecting bitstream or an unprocessed output for compatible external playback devices; its Blu-ray example is Bitstream (unprocessed). Disable secondary audio when applicable, since that setting can affect the audio format sent onward (Samsung external-player guidance). Confirm the source device’s manual and choose settings compatible with both the TV and soundbar.
Troubleshoot when Atmos does not play
- Check the HDMI ports. Confirm that the cable runs from the TV’s ARC/eARC port to the soundbar’s matching TV/ARC/eARC port.
- Confirm ARC or eARC support at both ends. A device having HDMI does not by itself mean it supports eARC; check the manuals and enable eARC on the TV if available.
- Enable HDMI-CEC if required. Samsung calls this setting Anynet+. Follow the TV manual for the exact control and label.
- Review the digital output format. Try a format supported by the soundbar and source. Samsung’s guidance includes Auto and Pass-Through; for poor output it also suggests PCM as a possible alternative, depending on device support.
- Verify the content and source settings. Make sure the title has an Atmos track and, for an external player, check bitstream/unprocessed output and secondary-audio settings where applicable.
- Simplify the connection if the handshake fails. Samsung recommends temporarily removing other devices connected to the TV when eARC operation is problematic. Reconnect them one at a time after testing.
If the menu option is absent or the soundbar does not indicate Atmos, the cause may be an unsupported model combination, connection, source setting, or audio track—not a missing universal TV toggle. Check the manuals for all devices before changing unrelated sound modes.
