Where each vacuum may suit your home
Choose the V15 Detect if listed carry weight matters most
At 6.83 lb, Dyson’s listed V15 Detect weight is lower than Shark’s approximately 8.9 lb for the IZ862H. That is a specification comparison, not a handling test: balance, grip, floorhead and how often you lift the vacuum also affect comfort. The V15’s particle sensing and power adaptation may appeal if you want the machine to respond to detected dust. Dyson’s listed whole-machine HEPA filtration and removable click-in battery may also matter to your ownership preferences; confirm battery service and replacement options for your region.
Consider the Stratos IZ862H for its wand and odor features
RTINGS identifies the Shark’s flexible wand and odor-neutralizer cartridge as advantages in its comparison with the V15 Detect. Those features may be useful if you need to reach under low furniture or want an odor-related feature. Shark describes Clean Sense IQ as detecting dirt that may not be visible and automatically increasing power; it also describes a clean-floor indicator. These features are not proof that the Shark cleans every surface better.

Consider Gen5detect for Dyson’s newer listed runtime claim
Dyson lists Gen5detect at up to 70 minutes, compared with up to 60 minutes for V15 Detect. The models’ maximum claims do not establish how long either will run in your preferred mode or on your floors. Gen5detect also has a particle-count display. Dyson says its light reveals twice the amount of invisible dust on hard floors; that is Dyson’s promotional comparison, not an independent head-to-head result against Stratos.
Consider Gen5outsize for larger capacity
Dyson positions Gen5outsize as a large-format machine, with a wider head and larger bin than Gen5detect. Its 8.6 lb listed weight and larger format may be less convenient if carrying or storage space is a priority. The up-to-140-minute runtime figure is specified with the extra click-in battery, so do not compare it as though it were the same configuration as the other listed runtime figures.

- Identify your exact market and model. Confirm the full model number and what is included in the local bundle; names and included tools may vary by country.
- Match the machine to your rooms. Check detailed independent results for your main floor types and pet-hair needs. A sensing feature or a longer maximum-runtime claim alone does not establish better pickup in your home.
