To pay a merchant with UPI using Samsung Wallet in India, open the app, select your UPI account, scan the merchant’s BHIM UPI QR code, verify the recipient, enter the amount and approve with your UPI PIN when prompted. Samsung’s UPI guide still uses the older name Samsung Pay; Samsung says Pay is now integrated into Samsung Wallet.
Pay a merchant by scanning a UPI QR code

Open Samsung Wallet (or Samsung Pay, if that is the label on your installed app) and select your UPI account or UPI card.

Tap the scan-code control and scan the merchant’s BHIM UPI QR code.

Check the recipient and payment details displayed by the app before proceeding. Do not approve a payment if the details are not what you expect.

Enter the amount and, if you want, a remark. Tap Pay.

Enter your UPI PIN when prompted and wait for confirmation. Samsung’s guide says both the payer and beneficiary receive a confirmation message.

If UPI is not set up yet, Samsung’s published instructions describe this flow. Labels can differ in the current Wallet app, so follow the wording shown on your device.

Use Add/Link/Manage Bank Account to link an eligible account. The mobile number used for UPI setup must match the number registered with that bank account.

If the account needs PIN verification, select it and start UPI PIN generation. Samsung’s guide describes completing bank verification and then setting the PIN; its documented flow may ask for debit/ATM card details during verification. Banks and current setup paths may differ.

Samsung’s India UPI guide also describes sending money to a VPA or to a bank account using its account number and IFSC, paying online by entering a VPA and approving a notification, handling pending collect requests, paying bills, and using a linked VPA for cab payments. Check whether the feature is available on your device
Samsung says Wallet features and availability vary by country or region, device model, carrier and firmware. Check Samsung’s current compatibility guidance and the options in your installed app; Samsung says Wallet or Samsung Pay can be downloaded from Galaxy Store or Google Play, followed by Samsung account sign-in. The available sources do not establish a complete, current list of Galaxy models that support UPI in India, so check your exact device rather than relying on a universal model list. Biometric UPI approval is not confirmed for every Galaxy device
On 30 October 2025, Samsung India announced UPI onboarding during new-device setup and biometric authentication, saying users “will soon be able to access the app and make UPI payments using just their Galaxy device’s fingerprint or face recognition.” Samsung described the features as beginning to roll out across supported Galaxy devices soon.
