Most eligible Fortnite Item Shop cosmetics bought with V-Bucks can be refunded in one of two ways: cancel the purchase within 24 hours if the item has not been used or equipped, or use a Return Ticket for an eligible purchase from the last 30 days. Both options remove the item and return its V-Bucks; a confirmed return cannot be undone. Epic Games Support explains the current rules and controls.
Choose Cancel Purchase or a Return Ticket
These are the two self-service options for eligible V-Bucks purchases from the Fortnite Item Shop. The main differences are the time limit and whether you spend a ticket.

|---|---|---|---|
| Cancel Purchase | Within 24 hours of purchase | None | The item must not have been used or equipped in any game mode. |
| Return Ticket | For an eligible purchase made within the last 30 days | One ticket | You must have a ticket available. |
Either route removes the returned item and refunds its V-Bucks. Once you confirm, the return is final.

In Fortnite
- Open the player menu.
- Select Support and Refunds.

- Select the purchase you want to return.
- Review what will be removed, then confirm if the details are correct.
On the web
- Sign in to the Fortnite Item Shop.
- Open the player menu and select Return and Cancel Purchases.
- Choose Show Purchases.
- Select the purchase, review the items affected, and confirm.
Check the confirmation screen carefully. If the purchase was a bundle, the entire bundle must be returned together. A confirmed return cannot be reversed.
How Return Tickets work
- An account starts with three Return Tickets and can hold no more than three.
- Epic adds one ticket every 365 days if the account has fewer than three tickets.
- Each ticket can be used for an eligible purchase made within the previous 30 days.
If you have no ticket and the 24-hour Cancel Purchase period has passed, Epic says the purchase cannot be refunded through these controls. Epic Support cannot grant extra tickets.

Which purchases are excluded?
Return Tickets and Cancel Purchase do not cover every Fortnite purchase. Epic lists these exclusions:
- Passes, Pass Levels, and Premium Reward Tracks.
- Gifted purchases and Level Up Quest Packs.
- Certain Save the World items.
- Developer-made island purchases.
- Battle Pass rewards earned through gameplay.
Epic says some cosmetics may qualify for a tokenless refund in special circumstances, but this is limited to specific items and is not available for every request. It is not a general way to save a Return Ticket.

- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.
- Redemption: Online
Use the refund route for the payment method
The Fortnite Return Ticket process is for eligible Item Shop purchases made with V-Bucks. If you paid through a console or mobile storefront whose payment system Epic does not manage, follow that storefront’s refund process; its policies determine whether a refund is granted. Epic’s Fortnite refund guidance distinguishes those purchases from the V-Bucks self-service controls.
Epic Games Store game refunds are separate from Fortnite Item Shop returns. Eligible Epic Games Store purchases use a different process through the account’s Transactions page and have their own rules. See Epic’s Epic Games Store refund instructions.
