Choose by your game library and PC setup
Choose Quest 3 for standalone use with PC VR as an option
Quest 3 runs Horizon OS without requiring a computer. When you do want PC VR, Meta supports Link Cable and Air Link. Steam Link also lets Quest 3 stream games from a computer running Steam and SteamVR; Steam Support lists Quest 3 as a supported headset. Consider Steam Frame if Steam streaming is your main priority
Valve describes Steam Frame as a “streaming-first” wireless headset that can stream an entire Steam library. Its Standalone Verified program is meant to identify which VR and non-VR Steam games work locally. Check a specific title’s compatibility rather than assuming the full library runs natively: streaming the library and running selected games on the headset are different capabilities.

Battery life: treat Meta’s numbers as estimates
Meta lists up to 2.2 hours of average Quest 3 use and gives activity averages: 2.4 hours for gaming, 2.2 hours for social use, 1.5 hours for productivity, and 2.9 hours for media. These are manufacturer estimates, not a guaranteed runtime. Meta says actual battery life varies with settings, usage, battery age, Bluetooth use, and wireless conditions.

Comfort, fit, and optional accessories
Quest 3’s pancake lenses and 515 g published headset weight are useful specification points, but they do not establish which headset will feel better on your face.
