On desktop Chrome, open More > Bookmarks and lists > Bookmark manager to find and edit saved links. Chrome lets you edit bookmarks individually and provides a bulk-edit control, but its help documentation does not describe a global find-and-replace for bookmark URLs. For batch changes, a third-party extension advertises that feature; review its matches and confirm each destination supports HTTPS before replacing http://.
Find bookmarks in Chrome
In desktop Chrome, select More > Bookmarks and lists > Bookmark manager. Google also documents a search shortcut: enter @bookmarks in the address bar, then type keywords to search saved bookmarks. See Google’s instructions for finding and managing bookmarks.
These instructions are for desktop Chrome. The cited help and extension sources do not establish the same menus or workflow for Chrome on Android or iOS.
Edit one bookmark’s URL
- Open Bookmark Manager using More > Bookmarks and lists > Bookmark manager.
- Find the bookmark, open its More menu, and choose Edit.
- Update the URL field with the intended address, then save.
Google documents editing a bookmark, though the exact location of the Edit action can vary between Bookmark Manager and the navigation panel. Its bookmark help page also describes a bulk-edit control in the navigation panel. That is not documented as a global operation to replace text across every bookmark URL.

Replace a URL pattern across many bookmarks
If you have many links to change, the Chrome Web Store listing for Bookmark URL Batch Replacer advertises batch replacement using plain text or regular expressions, with a preview before changes. These are claims made by the listing; they have not been independently verified here.
- Before installing an extension, read its store listing and review its requested permissions.
- Use the extension’s preview, if you choose this tool, to inspect which bookmarks match and what each resulting URL will be.
- Apply a replacement only to the intended matches. For an HTTP-to-HTTPS change, replace the
http://prefix only where you have reason to believe the destination supports HTTPS. - Afterward, check several edited bookmarks by opening them and confirming they reach the intended pages.
The listing says processing is local and does not require an internet connection. Treat that as the publisher’s statement, not an independent privacy audit. Chrome’s bookmarks API documentation explains that extensions can work with bookmark data; it does not establish the safety or quality of any particular extension.

Reduce the risk of a bad replacement
- Keep a recoverable copy first. Before making a large batch change, retain a copy of your bookmarks so you have a reference if something goes wrong. The cited Chrome help does not establish a rollback guarantee for batch replacements.
- Do not assume HTTP can always become HTTPS. A changed URL may fail or lead somewhere unintended if the site does not support HTTPS or handles addresses differently. The cited sources do not verify every bookmark destination.
- Inspect the match set. Review which URLs a literal or regular-expression rule will affect before applying it; an overly broad pattern can change links beyond your intended targets.
- Verify results afterward. Open a sample of changed bookmarks and confirm both the destination and page are correct.
