A quest only counts when its objective is available and completed in the relevant experience; playing another mode may still earn XP toward your passes without completing that quest.
How to find and complete quests
- Launch a Fortnite experience.
- In the lobby, open Quests to see the quests available to you.
- Play the experience associated with the quest and complete its objective.
Epic says each experience has different quests, so do not assume that a Battle Royale objective can be completed in LEGO Fortnite or Festival. Check the quest’s description and the live Quests screen for where it applies. Epic’s instructions are in How to complete Fortnite quests.

Does quest progress carry over between modes?
Not necessarily. Quest progress is tied to the specific quest and experience: playing another mode does not automatically complete an objective. Whether a particular quest can be completed outside its associated experience is not established as a universal rule, so use the objective’s details in-game rather than treating all quests as cross-mode.
Epic’s general quest guidance names different experiences, including LEGO Fortnite and Festival, but the quest list and supported modes can change. Rocket Racing is no longer available: Epic says it was removed on October 1, 2026, and its quests are no longer available. Ballistic was removed and Festival Battle Stage went offline on April 16, 2026; Festival Main Stage and Jam Stage remain. See Epic’s mode retirement notice for those availability details.

Can other modes still earn Battle Pass XP?
Yes. Quest completion is not the only way to earn XP. Epic’s guidance says XP from playing Fortnite experiences advances all active passes simultaneously. It identifies Battle Royale, eligible Creative maps, LEGO Fortnite and Fortnite Festival among the ways to earn XP toward the Battle Pass. Epic also says active Battle, OG, LEGO and Music passes progress together when you earn XP in any experience. The exact available passes and XP rules may change; consult Epic’s pass progression information and XP guide.
Epic’s current support guidance lists quests (Daily, Weekly and Seasonal), match play, Kickstart quests, eligible Creative maps, Supercharged XP, periodic Double XP events and a Victory Crown bonus as potential XP sources. It says Daily quests reset each day and Weekly quests refresh every Tuesday. These schedules and eligibility rules are live game guidance, not guarantees for every season; check the Quests screen for current availability.

XP progress and premium rewards are different
Cross-mode XP can move progression on each active pass, but it does not grant premium reward access. Epic says each pass has separate premium reward conditions and generally requires a separate purchase for premium rewards, unless access is included with Fortnite Crew. Buying or claiming rewards on one pass does not itself advance another; XP does that. See Epic’s Fortnite Crew and pass information for current access terms.
