Use the save-transfer or cloud feature built into the platform where you play Metro Redux; there is no verified universal method for moving a save between PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. Before opening the game on your new device, confirm that the specific game edition supports the transfer method and let the old device finish syncing.
Before transferring: identify the platform and edition
Metro Redux is available on multiple platforms, but that does not mean its saves can move between them. The official platform information establishes separate migration features, not shared cross-platform progression. Start by identifying the source and destination platforms, the storefront or console edition, whether the old device still works, and any account or subscription requirements.

- Check the specific game’s store listing or platform support instructions for save-cloud support.
- Use the same platform account on the destination when the transfer method requires it.
- Keep the old device and any accessible save intact until the destination save has been checked.
- Do not replace a destination save or choose a cloud-conflict option unless you know which copy you want to keep.
Steam warns that cloud conflicts can happen when files change on two devices before they synchronize, and says it generally cannot recover lost saves or resolve those conflicts. See Steam’s Cloud FAQ.
Steam PC to another PC
Steam lists Steam Cloud for Metro 2033 Redux. That is evidence for this Steam listing, not a guarantee for every Metro Redux edition or storefront. Check the relevant game’s Steam listing before relying on cloud sync.

- On the old PC, connect to the internet and sign in to the Steam account used to play the game.
- Launch Steam and allow the game and Steam Cloud synchronization to finish. Do not shut down or switch devices while syncing is still in progress.
- Check the game’s cloud status in Steam before moving to the new PC.
- On the new PC, sign in to the same Steam account and allow synchronization to complete before launching the game.
- If Steam reports a conflict, compare the available copies and select the one you intend to keep. If the old save is still accessible, preserve a backup before making a choice.

Epic Games Store PC to another PC
Epic Cloud Saves work only for games that support them. Epic’s general help page does not confirm Metro Redux support for a particular Epic listing, so verify the game in your account before counting on an automatic transfer.
- Open the Epic Games Launcher and go to your Library.
- Filter the Library by the Cloud Saves feature, or open the game’s Store page and inspect its feature tags.
- If the specific game is marked as supporting Cloud Saves, open the launcher on the old PC while online and allow it to sync.
- Sign in to the same Epic account on the new PC and allow any available cloud synchronization to finish before starting the game.
If Metro Redux is not shown as supporting Cloud Saves for your edition, Epic’s general instructions do not establish another transfer method. See Epic’s instructions for checking cloud-save support.

Nintendo Switch to a replacement Switch
Nintendo’s Metro Redux listing identifies Save Data Cloud. Nintendo also documents transferring a user and save data between consoles or transferring an individual game save. A Nintendo Switch Online membership is needed to restore saves backed up through Save Data Cloud.

- On the original Switch, confirm the correct user and Nintendo Account are associated with the game.
- Choose the applicable route in Nintendo’s current instructions: transfer the user and save data, transfer an individual game save, or restore a Save Data Cloud backup.
- Follow the on-screen steps and confirm that the destination console and user are the ones you intend to use.
- Check the save on the replacement Switch before deleting or resetting the original console.
Nintendo notes that a transfer can remove the associated account and save data from the original console. Read its current Switch console transfer and cloud restore instructions before proceeding. The Nintendo UK Metro Redux listing identifies Save Data Cloud.

Sony documents transfer of saved data for games playable on PS5 from a source PS4 or PS5. Its instructions also cover copying PS4 game saves to a USB drive and then to a PS5; PS5 save data cannot be copied to USB. PlayStation Plus cloud downloads are another route described by Sony.

- For a console-to-console move, follow Sony’s PS4 or PS5 to PS5 transfer instructions and select saved data for a game playable on PS5.
- For the USB route, copy the Metro Redux save from the PS4 to a USB drive, then copy it to the PS5 using Sony’s documented steps.
- Alternatively, use the PlayStation Plus cloud-save route in Sony’s instructions if the save is backed up to your account.
- On the PS5, check the save in the game before removing data from the PS4 or USB drive.
Sony’s USB method applies to PS4 game saves, not PS5 save data. These are PlayStation migration methods; they do not establish that a PlayStation save can be imported into a PC, Xbox, or Switch copy.
Xbox, cross-platform transfers, and manual PC copying
The official information available here confirms Xbox One availability for Metro Redux, but does not provide a Metro-specific Xbox-to-Xbox transfer procedure. It also does not establish Xbox-to-PC migration or compatibility among Steam, Epic, GOG, and Microsoft Store save formats. Verify the current instructions for your exact game edition and platform before replacing or moving save data.
