Start with your GPU, resolution, and target
Choose the game’s output resolution first, then treat the matching published tier as a baseline. The requirements were reported by PC Gamer in 2026; the listed frame rates are developer targets that assume an upscaler, not native-resolution benchmarks.

All three tiers specify 115 GB of SSD storage — The Coalition requirements, reported by PC Gamer, 2026. They also require a graphics card with hardware ray-tracing support; conventional older GPUs without dedicated hardware ray tracing are not supported. Having a listed component does not ensure identical performance in every scene.
Build a reliable performance baseline
- Record your starting point. Note your resolution, preset, upscaler and mode, frame-generation setting, and the frame-rate behavior you care about: average smoothness, dips, or image clarity.
- Run the built-in benchmark. Use it to compare settings consistently, but do not treat its result as a gameplay guarantee. Tom’s Hardware found it somewhat more demanding than its gameplay scenes, in part because of its sweeping view.
- Check a repeatable gameplay scene. Revisit the same representative area after each change. Watch for dips, image stability, detail, and pop-in as well as the average frame rate.
- Change one variable at a time. Compare one preset, upscaler mode, or graphics option at a time at the same output resolution. This helps identify whether a gain came with an unacceptable clarity or stability trade-off.
Choose an upscaler by support and image quality
The Coalition’s July 14, 2026 PC announcement lists NVIDIA DLSS 4.5, AMD FSR, Unreal Engine TSR, and Intel XeSS. The game is built on Unreal Engine 5 and DirectX 12. Which options and modes you can select depends on your hardware and the game’s current implementation; the official announcement does not identify one universal best choice.

Upscaling renders the image internally below the selected output resolution, which can reduce rendering workload. More aggressive modes can also make fine detail or motion less clear. Compare modes on your own display rather than assuming a specific technology or mode is best for every GPU.
Use frame generation with responsiveness in mind
The Coalition also announces NVIDIA DLSS Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and NVIDIA Reflex for compatible systems. Frame generation can increase the displayed frame rate, but that number alone does not show how responsive the game feels or establish that the underlying frame rate rose by the same amount. Assess responsiveness separately. The announcement identifies Reflex as a latency-related technology but does not establish a specific latency improvement for your system.

Adjust settings before considering an upgrade
If performance is below your target, first try a less demanding preset or upscaler mode, then repeat the same-scene comparison. If you are aiming for a resolution tier above what your GPU can sustain, or your card lacks hardware ray tracing, a compatible graphics card may be necessary. The requirements’ GPU examples are useful reference points, but they are not a guarantee of a particular result.
Check available drive space before installing. The requirement is an SSD with 115 GB of storage; it does not specify NVMe or require a 1 TB drive.

Low Core Mode is a special-case setting, not a general FPS fix
Tom’s Hardware tested 25 CPUs using an RTX 5090 at 1080p for CPU scaling. In that test pool, Low Core Mode lowered performance across all 25 CPUs and did not improve 1% lows. In a separate, deliberately reduced dual-core experiment, enabling it improved performance from 36 FPS to 47 FPS and resolved asset-streaming and long pause-menu hangs compared with that same constrained setup. Those findings make it a troubleshooting option for an unusually CPU-constrained system, not a default recommendation for ordinary PCs.
Interpret published reviews as system-specific examples
Tom’s Guide reported roughly 50 FPS at 4K High on a Ryzen 7 9700X, GeForce RTX 5070, and 32 GB RAM without the cited DLSS boosts. On that system, the reviewer reported roughly 115 FPS after enabling DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Frame Generation and Dynamic Upscaling Quality while increasing ray-traced settings. The review also noted dips in a semi-open area and occasional pop-in; moving to 1440p with Performance upscaling produced smoother play in that reviewer’s experience. These are observations from one configuration and selected scenes, not a controlled prediction for other PCs.

The developer’s August beta FAQ advised Intel Arc A580 and B580 users with unexpectedly poor performance to check ReBAR and Above 4G Decoding in BIOS. Because that guidance refers to beta software, confirm that it still applies to the launch build before changing firmware settings. Do not treat it as a confirmed fix for every Arc system.
Advanced Shader Delivery availability
The Coalition described Advanced Shader Delivery for compatible systems and supported PC storefronts, including the Microsoft Store and Xbox PC app, with broader support expected to expand over time. Storefront and implementation availability can change, so check the current game and platform details if the option matters to your setup.
