You can use the same Fortnite progress on multiple consoles by linking each console account to the Epic Games account that holds the progress you want. First confirm you have the right Epic account: linking accounts does not merge separate progress histories, and unlinking can cut a console off from its existing progress.
Before linking, find the Epic account with your Fortnite progress
Fortnite progress is stored on your Epic Games account, not on the linked console account. If a console is linked to a different Epic account, it will show the progress associated with that account. Epic explains this in its account recovery guidance.
- In a browser, sign in to the Epic Games account you think holds your Fortnite progress.
- If you are unsure which account is connected to a console, sign out of Epic and use that console’s sign-in option. Epic recommends trying the email address for the Epic account or a known linked external account to identify it.
- Check the account before changing any links. If different consoles show different progress, decide which progress history you want to keep.
Epic says separate Fortnite progress histories cannot be combined. Linking a console to another Epic account does not transfer its old progress; it makes the progress on the newly linked Epic account available on that console. See Epic’s sync guidance and troubleshooting steps.
Link a console to the correct Epic Games account
- Sign in to the Epic Games account that contains the progress you want to access.
- Open Account Settings, then select Linked accounts.
- Select the icon for your console platform and follow Epic’s prompts to sign in to that platform account and complete linking.
- Launch Fortnite on the console and check that the expected progress appears.
Use Epic’s platform-specific sync instructions for the console you are setting up. An Epic account can have only one account of each platform type linked at a time, and a platform account cannot be linked to more than one Epic account. Child accounts with Cabined Account restrictions may need help from a parent or guardian.

If the wrong progress appears
Stop before creating or linking additional accounts. The console may be connected to an Epic account other than the one holding the progress you want. Check which Epic account is linked, then follow Epic’s sync troubleshooting guidance to connect the console to the account with the desired progress.
If you were reset to Level 1 or the game prompts you to create or link an account, Epic’s recovery instructions describe how to identify and register a console-linked Epic account if needed, verify its email, and then link the console to the Epic account containing your progress. If the correct Epic account is linked but progress still does not appear, contact Epic Support.

Understand the risks before unlinking or replacing an account
Unlinking is not a way to merge progress or move it between Epic accounts. Epic says your data remains on the original Epic account, but the unlinked console loses access to that account’s Fortnite progress and purchases. Launching Fortnite after unlinking may automatically create a new, empty Epic account. Review Epic’s unlinking guidance before making a change.
If you are replacing a previously linked account of the same platform type, Epic may require you to remove a linking restriction. Epic allows removal of that restriction once every 365 days, and says it cannot be bypassed. If the platform account you plan to remove has an active Fortnite Crew subscription, cancel it first: Epic says that account will not receive new Crew rewards after unlinking. What carries across platforms—and what may not
Epic says purchases and progress are available on supported platforms linked to the same Epic account, with a V-Bucks exception. V-Bucks availability can differ by platform, so check Epic’s cross-platform purchases and progress guidance rather than assuming all currency is shared.
