Yes, a current Mac mini can run Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition through its native Apple-silicon release. But available evidence does not establish that an M6 Mac mini is faster or cheaper than a price-matched Windows gaming PC. CD PROJEKT RED publishes Mac FPS targets for older chip tiers, while Apple reports an M6-versus-M4 result without a comparable FPS figure or PC test. Choose based on your preferred operating system and the exact systems you can compare—not a blanket claim that one platform wins.
Can a Mac mini run Cyberpunk 2077?
Yes. CD PROJEKT RED’s July 17, 2025 announcement says Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is available natively for Apple-silicon Macs and names Mac mini among the supported Mac families. The launch announcement sets a minimum of Apple silicon, 16 GB unified memory, and macOS 15.5 or later.
The developer’s Mac requirements page lists macOS 15.5 or later, an SSD, and these hardware tiers:

These are the developer’s published targets, not independent benchmark results or guarantees for every Mac. The tiers do not include M6 or M5 Pro, so they cannot establish how either current chip performs in the game.

How does Cyberpunk 2077 perform on a Mac mini?
Apple’s current Mac mini page lists M6 and M5 Pro models. Apple says the M6 Mac mini delivers “2.0x” the gaming performance of the M4 Mac mini in Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition with ray tracing. That is an Apple-reported comparison between two Mac mini generations; the page does not provide FPS, test settings, or a Windows PC result. It should not be read as proof that the M6 beats a gaming PC.
Settings and resolution change the result
CD PROJEKT RED says the in-game “For This Mac” preset assigns settings and resolution for an individual Mac to balance image quality and performance. The developer warns that using a higher resolution significantly affects FPS, and recommends the preset-assigned resolution on external displays. It also says: “For optimal experience, Ray Tracing is not applied in the default ‘For this Mac’ preset, regardless of your hardware’s capabilities.” So Apple’s ray-tracing comparison is not equivalent to the game’s default Mac preset.

What does the Windows PC requirement say?
Steam’s Windows system requirements name specific processor and graphics-card examples. They are component requirements, not FPS promises for every PC using those parts.

Unlike the Mac page, Steam’s listed tiers do not specify target FPS or a resolution for those Windows components. Comparing a Windows requirement directly with a Mac FPS target would therefore mix different kinds of guidance.

Which is cheaper: a Mac mini or gaming PC?
The available product and requirements pages do not provide enough information to call either option cheaper. Apple’s current Mac mini page identifies configurations but the cited material does not establish a current price; Steam’s requirements describe parts rather than the cost of a complete desktop. A fair comparison needs live prices from the same region and date.
Compare the setup you would actually buy, including the selected computer configuration, game license, display and input devices if you do not already own them, and any storage you need. Note which items are already on hand. For the Mac version, storage needs depend on storefront:

- CD PROJEKT RED says to allow additional space during installation and updates; an SSD is required.
The July 17, 2025 launch announcement says players who already own the game on the named other storefronts can download the Mac version there at no additional charge. Check the current storefront and account terms before relying on that policy. The storage figures and storefront policy do not by themselves determine the lowest total cost.

The platforms are described differently in the published specifications: Mac requirements are grouped by Apple chip and unified-memory tiers, while Windows requirements name processor and graphics-card examples. That makes the Windows requirements easier to map to discrete component choices, but it does not prove that every prebuilt PC can be upgraded. Check the specific PC’s manufacturer documentation for compatible parts and service details before buying on the assumption that you can replace a component later.

Apple lists up to 32 GB unified memory for the M6 Mac mini and up to 64 GB for M5 Pro. These are configuration ceilings on Apple’s product page, not confirmation that memory can be added after purchase. Select the memory configuration you need when choosing the Mac.
How to compare performance fairly
A useful Mac-versus-PC FPS comparison needs both systems tested with the same game version, output resolution, graphics quality, ray tracing, upscaling or frame-generation settings, and measurement method. It should also identify the exact Mac and PC configurations. The sources cited here do not provide a matched independent test of the current M6 Mac mini against a price-matched Windows desktop, so they cannot identify an FPS winner.
