Choose a case explicitly listed for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S12+—not merely one described as a 12-inch tablet case. Samsung’s S12+-only Book Cover is the documented slim folio option; choose the Book Cover Keyboard Slim instead if you want an integrated keyboard. Samsung’s reviewed product pages do not give either accessory a drop-protection rating, so neither should be treated as a proven rugged case.
Start with exact Galaxy Tab S12+ compatibility
Samsung says its Book Cover is compatible only with the Galaxy Tab S12+. Match the full tablet model name and generation on the case listing. A screen-size description alone, or a listing for a different Galaxy Tab, does not establish a fit. Samsung’s Book Cover product page is a useful reference for the S12+ accessory’s stated features.
For a third-party case, confirm the seller names the Galaxy Tab S12+ specifically and check that the case leaves its cameras, buttons, speakers, and ports accessible. No particular third-party case or compatibility claim is established here.

Choose the Book Cover for a slim folio and adjustable viewing
The Book Cover attaches magnetically and props the tablet in portrait or landscape orientation. Samsung also lists a camera rim, microfiber lining, Auto Screen On/Off, and continued charging and S Pen use with the cover on. It does not have a built-in S Pen slot and does not include a keyboard; Samsung says an external Bluetooth keyboard can be used.

Samsung UK lists the cover at 338 g and 10.8 mm thick. Those are accessory specifications, not a published combined tablet-and-cover weight.
Choose Keyboard Slim if typing matters more than a detachable setup
The Book Cover Keyboard Slim combines the cover and an 81-key keyboard. It connects through POGO and draws power from the tablet, so it does not require separate battery charging. Its keyboard is integrated and cannot be detached; Samsung lists no trackpad or S Pen slot. Samsung UK lists the accessory at 364.4 g and 13.4 mm thick. Weigh protection against the bulk you will carry
Samsung lists the S12+ tablet dimensions as 187.8 × 289.5 × 5.3 mm and its weight as 553 g for Wi-Fi or 555 g for 5G. These are Samsung-published tablet specifications, not independent measurements. The Book Cover’s 338 g and Keyboard Slim’s 364.4 g are separate accessory weights; Samsung does not provide an all-in combined figure in the cited specifications. Consider the accessory weight alongside the tablet’s weight when deciding whether a keyboard or folio stand is worth the extra bulk.
“Protective” or “rugged” wording alone does not prove drop resistance. The reviewed Samsung pages do not state a drop rating or test result for either accessory. If impact protection is important, look for a third-party listing that identifies the exact S12+ fit and names the test or rating behind its claim. Do not assume an official folio has been drop-tested based on its name or construction details.

Check S Pen storage and other handling needs
Neither documented Samsung option has a built-in S Pen slot. Samsung says the Book Cover supports continued S Pen use while attached, but use and storage are different needs: if you want the pen held in a dedicated slot, verify that feature on the exact case listing. Also check for the stand orientation you need, keyboard or trackpad requirements, access to buttons and ports, and the extent of coverage the case actually provides.
Samsung’s US announcement mentions an anti-reflecting screen protector among S12-series accessories, but does not establish the protector’s model number or S12+ fit. Treat it as an accessory category to verify rather than a confirmed S12+ recommendation. The announcement also states US availability starts October 7, 2026; Samsung’s global announcement says availability begins October 7 in select markets.
