Some Casio G-SHOCK watches connect to a smartphone over Bluetooth using Casio’s Mobile Link feature. Depending on the watch’s module, that connection can adjust the time, transfer settings or provide features such as notifications, training records and location tools. The app and available functions differ by model, so check the operation guide for the module number printed on your watch or its documentation.
What smartphone connectivity does on a G-SHOCK
Casio describes phone connection in its operation guides as “Mobile Link” or “Linking with a Phone.” On compatible watches, Bluetooth links the watch and phone; the phone can serve as a bridge for time correction and other supported features. A Bluetooth connection does not mean every G-SHOCK has the same functions.
For example, the Module 5641 guide documents notification linking and receipt as well as life-log and training-log functions. Module 5713 documents location memory, a location indicator, automatic altitude calibration and mission logging. Module 3475 describes training records, step counts and calorie information in G-SHOCK MOVE. These are examples from particular modules, not a feature list for the whole range. See the Module 5641 guide, Module 5713 guide and Module 3475 guide for the applicable watch documentation.
How to connect a G-SHOCK to a phone
- Identify the watch module. Find its module number on the watch or in its documentation, then open the matching Casio operation guide. Pairing controls and supported functions vary by module.
- Install the app specified for that module. Some watches use CASIO WATCHES; the documented training features for Module 3475 use G-SHOCK MOVE. Confirm the current app in the exact module guide and app listing rather than assuming one app works with every watch.
- Turn on Bluetooth on the phone and open the required app. For Module 5713, Casio says the phone app must be running for the function to be available.
- Follow the guide’s pairing procedure. Button sequences and confirmation indicators are module-specific. For example, the Module 5467 guide says to keep the phone within one meter of the watch during pairing; do not treat that distance or its button instructions as universal.
Casio’s guides provide model-specific pairing instructions; the Module 5467 guide is one example.

How Bluetooth time adjustment works
In Casio’s description, automatic time adjustment occurs when the watch connects to the paired phone at configured or preset times. The phone obtains time information from an online time server and passes corrected time information to the watch. The phone is therefore the communication bridge; this is not a universal schedule or procedure across all G-SHOCK models.
For Module 5467, the example connection schedule is around 5:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 5:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.; the connection ends automatically after each adjustment. Those times describe that module’s behavior, not a standard schedule for the G-SHOCK range. Consult the Module 5467 operation guide for its details.

Why phone linking or time correction may not work
Connection depends on the watch, phone, app and settings working together. Casio’s Module 5467 guide identifies several conditions that can interrupt automatic correction:
- The paired phone is too far from the watch.
- Radio interference prevents communication.
- The phone is updating its system.
- Automatic correction has been disabled.
- Certain manual changes to the time or home/world time have paused scheduled correction for 24 hours.
The final two points are specific to Module 5467’s documented behavior; another module may handle settings or interruptions differently. Check its guide and confirm the required app is available and running before troubleshooting with another model’s instructions.
