Check the PlayStation account’s Game Library and PlayStation Plus Monthly Games area to find games claimed through PS Plus. Whether a game still launches depends on how you got it: Monthly Games require an active membership, while catalog games require an eligible tier and must remain in the service.
Check your PS Plus Monthly Games on PS5 or PS4
Sign in to the PlayStation account that claimed the game. The Monthly Games area shows titles you can add to your library; menu labels can change as PlayStation updates its interface.

On PS5
- From Games home, scroll right to PlayStation Plus.
- Open Benefits, then choose Monthly Games.
- Highlight the game and select Download. If you previously claimed it, check your Game Library while signed in to the same account.
PlayStation’s Monthly Games instructions explain where to find the offers and add a title to your library.
On PS4
- From the function screen, open PlayStation Plus.
- Select Monthly Games and highlight the title.
- Choose Add to Library, then Download.
You can also start a download remotely through a browser or the PlayStation App. Your library is tied to the account, so a game claimed on another account may not appear as yours.

Know which kind of PS Plus access the game uses
A game appearing in the library does not by itself mean you can play it indefinitely. The access rule depends on whether it was a Monthly Game, a catalog title, or a purchase.
| Game type | What to check | When it is playable |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly Game claimed through PS Plus | That it was added to the library on the account you are using | While that account has an active PlayStation Plus membership |
| Game Catalog or Classics Catalog title | That your membership tier includes the catalog and the title is still offered | While you have an eligible tier and the title remains in the service |
| Purchased game | The account’s Game Library and Transaction History | Subject to the purchase license and any relevant account or console-sharing issue |
PlayStation’s PS Plus benefits information describes the service, but catalog rosters and benefits can change. Check the game’s current PlayStation Store or catalog listing for its status.

Use Transaction History if a game seems missing
First confirm that you are signed in to the account that claimed or purchased the game. For a purchase that does not appear in the library, check Transaction History. PlayStation says the online history defaults to the past two years; select a different date range, if available, to look for an older transaction.
- Web: Sign in to Account Management and select Transaction History.
- PS5: Go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Transaction History.
- PS4: Go to Settings > Account Management > Account Information > Wallet > Transaction History.
- PlayStation App: Select PlayStation Store, open the menu, then select Transaction History.
For full instructions, see PlayStation’s guide to checking transaction history.

Troubleshoot a locked game
A padlock is a reason to check access, not proof that you never claimed the game. PlayStation Support says, “If you see a padlock icon next to a game, it could mean there’s a problem with the game’s license.”

- Confirm the account. Make sure the console is signed in to the account that claimed or bought the title.
- Check the entitlement. For a Monthly Game, confirm the membership is active. For a catalog game, confirm both that your tier includes the catalog and that the title remains available.
- Try the license and sharing checks. If the account and entitlement look right, follow PlayStation’s steps to restore licenses and review console sharing settings in its locked games and license troubleshooting guide.
