Yes. First tap a Sound pill or sound label on the Snap or Spotlight post, if one appears. If there is no label, open the Google app on Android or iPhone, tap the microphone, choose Search a song, and play the Snapchat video so the phone can hear it. If you cannot play the clip, hum, whistle, or sing its melody instead.
Try Snapchat’s sound label first
If the Snap or Spotlight post shows a Sound pill or sound label, tap it to open the sound details. Snapchat says a Spotlight sound label opens a Sound Topic page where you can inspect and save the sound: Snapchat Support: How do I add music to my Snap?
Some trending sounds may also have a Context Card with the sound name and a link to more posts using it. Snapchat says Context Cards are still rolling out and are available only in some countries, so you may not see one: Snapchat Support: About Context Cards on Snapchat.
Use Google’s Search a song feature
Google documents song search on both Android and iPhone. It identifies music played for the app; if you hum, whistle, or sing, it returns potential matches that you should verify against the clip.

- Open the Google app on your Android phone or iPhone.
- Tap the microphone, then choose Search a song.
- Play the Snapchat video aloud near the phone so Google can hear its music. If playback is not practical, hum, whistle, or sing the clearest part of the melody.
- Review the results and compare a candidate with the video before settling on a title.
Google lists other Android entry points, including Circle to Search, Quick Settings, and a home-screen shortcut. The steps above use the Google app’s documented path. See Google’s instructions for Android and iPhone and iPad.
This method uses the phone’s microphone to hear audio playing nearby; Google’s instructions do not describe uploading a saved Snapchat video file for direct analysis.

Try SoundHound if Google does not find it
SoundHound is another app-based option: its support documentation says it can identify music it hears and search for a song from singing or humming. For its best humming results, SoundHound recommends one person hum for at least 10 seconds. Follow its Searching For Music instructions.
SoundHound also documents a separate flow for sharing an identified song in a music Snap: Snapping Your Discoveries With Snapchat. That is a way to share a discovery, not a substitute for checking a Sound label or searching the clip’s audio.

If the song still is not identified
- Replay a longer, clearer section so the app has more than a brief fragment to hear.
- Reduce competing speech or background noise if you can, and focus on a distinctive lyric or melodic phrase.
- Compare candidate results with the clip. A short edit, overlapping speech, noisy playback, or a remix can make identification harder, but a failed match alone does not prove the song cannot be identified.
Neither Google’s nor SoundHound’s cited instructions promise recognition of every Snapchat clip or provide a current success-rate figure. Google’s October 15, 2020 launch post described hum search as comparing melody patterns against thousands of songs; that is a product description from that date, not a current catalog-size claim or a coverage guarantee: Google: Song stuck in your head? Just hum to search.
