Prepare for an ekimma
- Read the Bestiary entry. Confirm the enemy type and its listed vulnerabilities before choosing your tools. The game’s ekimmara entry identifies it as a lower vampire; the Complete Edition guide lists Vampire Oil, Devil’s Puffball, and Igni as vulnerabilities. Prima Games’ ekimmara guide
- Apply Vampire Oil to your silver sword. It increases attack power against vampires. Choose the strongest tier you have crafted rather than assuming a particular formula is available. The Official Witcher Wiki’s Vampire Oil reference
- Keep Quen available. Use it as a defensive option, and attack during safe openings instead of trading hits.
- Use additional tools selectively. Igni and Devil’s Puffball are listed options against ekimmaras; use them when the opening allows.
These tactics are based on published guide and item-reference entries, not firsthand testing. For your current save, the in-game Bestiary and alchemy menu are the final check.
Choose a Vampire Oil tier you can make
The Official Witcher Wiki lists these attack-power bonuses against vampires. The figures are game item effects; the source does not state patch coverage.

Adjust your approach for other vampires
Do not assume every vampire behaves like an ekimma. Identify the subtype in the Bestiary and use its entry to guide preparation. Some vampire types can turn invisible; Prima Games describes Yrden as useful for revealing or restraining certain such enemies. - Look for a special tactic such as invisibility and respond with the tool recommended for that enemy.
