If your Tesla delivery estimate has slipped, check the Tesla app for the latest timing and complete any outstanding pre-delivery tasks. Tesla says the app is the source of truth for delivery timing, but an estimate is not a guaranteed date. In the U.S., you can reschedule an eligible appointment in the app, but changing pickup locations may be harder once a VIN is assigned. Before changing or cancelling an order, review the agreement for your purchase and the consumer rules where you live.
My vehicle delivery has been delayed and is now past the estimated window I got when I placed the order. When will I get my vehicle?
Tesla does not give a guaranteed replacement date when an estimated window passes. It says timing can change as manufacturing and logistics schedules update; an estimate may move or temporarily disappear. Tesla’s guidance is that it will notify you to schedule after a reported delay is resolved. Check the Tesla app for current timing and messages: Tesla Taking Delivery support.
- Check the app. Review the current estimate and any new messages or tasks. Tesla describes the app as the source of truth for delivery timing after an order is placed.
- Complete outstanding tasks. Update registration and delivery details, trade-in information, payment or financing details, insurance, and any other requested items that apply to your purchase. Requirements vary by location and payment method. See Tesla Support for your market’s instructions.
- Wait for Tesla’s scheduling notice. Tesla says it will notify you when the delay is resolved and scheduling can proceed.
- If you need a car sooner, check existing inventory. Tesla suggests exploring inventory, but availability is not assured and Tesla does not promise that an inventory vehicle will arrive sooner.
Another buyer’s delivery date is not a reliable forecast for yours: Tesla says timing depends on production, logistics, location, and completion of applicable tasks. Tesla may assign a vehicle within a 90-minute drive of the delivery address, according to its U.S. support page; this is not a promise that every buyer will receive a vehicle within that range.
Can I reschedule my delivery date in the Tesla app?
For U.S. orders, Tesla’s app instructions are to open your pre-delivery tasks, go to Scheduling, tap Reschedule, and select an available date and time. Tesla says the app cannot reschedule an appointment that is within the next 48 hours. If the option is unavailable, or you need help with timing or a market-specific exception, contact your local Tesla delivery center or advisor.

Processes differ by country. Tesla Canada, for example, directs customers to contact their local delivery center to change a delivery date or location: Tesla Canada Taking Delivery support.
My delivery location is not convenient. Can I pick my vehicle up at another location?
First check whether Tesla has assigned a VIN. Tesla says a vehicle with an assigned VIN cannot be moved to another location. If you cannot collect it at the assigned site, Tesla says it would need to assign a different vehicle, which may significantly affect your estimate. Contact your delivery center or advisor before asking to change the location so you understand the effect on your specific order.

Can I change my Tesla order?
Use the controls available in your Tesla account and check the agreement governing your order; the reviewed materials do not establish one universal point when every retail buyer can make every kind of configuration change. Tesla’s U.S. order agreement says changes may be subject to price increases reflecting adjustments since the original order date. How do I cancel my vehicle order?
For the U.S. app cancellation flow, Tesla instructs customers to open the app and tap Vehicle Details → Manage → Request to cancel, choose a reason, then tap Submit Cancellation and confirm. See Tesla’s U.S. cancellation instructions.

Tesla’s U.S. ordering page describes the order fee as a one-time, non-refundable fee: Tesla Model Y ordering information. That wording is not a determination of every buyer’s legal rights. Check the agreement you accepted and the consumer rules that apply where you live before cancelling, especially if your circumstances are unusual.
