These holsters use a rigid, shaped shell. Comp-Tac describes the Kydex body of its MTAC as custom-fit to each firearm. GLOCK describes its slim polymer accessory as flat and close-fitting, and lists it for the G43, G43X, and G48. Leather: evidence here concerns hybrid backers
The cited Glock 48 options use leather as part of a hybrid construction. The available sources do not confirm a standalone all-leather Glock 48 IWB model, nor do they establish comparative evidence about leather break-in, maintenance, wet-weather performance, or durability. Hybrid: rigid shell plus a softer backer
Comp-Tac describes the MTAC as a Kydex-and-leather IWB hybrid with top-grain cowhide backing. Its claim that the backing “does not rub or pinch” is the company’s comfort claim, not an independently verified result. Other maker-described examples include Black Arch’s Gradient Hybrid IWB for G48/G48 MOS, with a full Kydex shell and leather backer, and Vedder’s RapidTuck, described as premium leather plus molded Kydex for the Glock 48. How to choose for your Glock 48
- Match the exact pistol configuration. Check the maker’s current listing for Glock 48 versus G48 MOS, generation or configuration, and whether fit changes with a rail, optic, or weapon-mounted light. For example, Black Arch lists G48/G48 MOS and railed/non-railed fitment, plus a light-specific option; those details apply to that product, not all holsters. - Check orientation, attachment, and retention. Confirm handedness, belt or other attachment system, retention adjustment, and intended carry position on the current product listing. - Compare construction and stated features. Decide whether you want a rigid shell alone or a hybrid with a leather backer; then compare the particular model’s adjustment and attachment options. Treat comfort language as a maker’s claim rather than evidence that one category works better for everyone.
