Start with the A50 Gen 4’s built-in ASTRO, Pro, and Studio EQ presets, switch between them with the headset’s EQ button, and keep EQ, audio processing, and game/voice balance in mind as separate controls. There is no documented universally best preset or custom curve: compare the presets in the game you play and choose the sound you prefer. For adjustable settings, Logitech G lists Astro Command Center support for the A50 Gen 4 on Windows and Mac.
Which A50 Gen 4 EQ setting should you use?
Try the three documented presets—ASTRO, Pro, and Studio—rather than assuming one is best for every game or listener. Logitech’s documentation names the modes but does not publish their frequency-response curves or identify a genre-specific winner. It also does not prescribe custom band values.
ASTRO, Pro, and Studio
The Xbox One-era quick-start guide confirms the names of all three modes. It does not define their tonal differences, so treat them as listening options, not as guaranteed footstep, competitive, or cinematic settings. The guide says to press the EQ button until the desired preset is selected: A50 Gen 4 Xbox One quick-start guide.
A practical way to choose
- Open a game you know and set a comfortable listening volume.
- Use the physical EQ button to cycle through ASTRO, Pro, and Studio.
- Listen for the balance and clarity you prefer in that game, then keep the preset that suits you.
This comparison is a personal listening method, not a claim that a preset has been measured or shown to improve performance.

Keep EQ, audio processing, and game/voice balance separate
The A50 Gen 4 has distinct controls for EQ selection, Dolby/source-audio mode, and the relative game/voice mix. Changing one does not mean you have changed the others. The quick-start documentation identifies these controls but does not prescribe a universally preferable combination.
- EQ: selects among the ASTRO, Pro, and Studio presets.
- Dolby/source audio: controls audio processing or source mode.
- Game/voice balance: changes the relative level of game and voice audio.
Adjust the control that matches what you want to change—for example, the game/voice mix if voices are too loud relative to game audio—instead of treating every audio control as an EQ setting.

Use Astro Command Center for adjustable settings
Logitech G lists Astro Command Center for configuring adjustable settings on the A50 Gen 4 in its Windows and Mac software offerings. The official page establishes software support, but it does not give a recommended gaming curve or specific custom EQ-band values: Logitech G Astro Series software.
If you choose to customize settings in the software, regard any values you select as personal adjustments. The available official documentation does not support presenting a particular curve as the best setting for all games.

Check platform-specific setup instructions
The Xbox One-era guide describes an Xbox/PC mode switch and USB and optical connections. Those details identify controls and connections on that documented setup; they are not universal instructions for every console generation or A50 Gen 4 platform variant. Follow the guide for your hardware and connection arrangement rather than assuming an Xbox One-era connection path applies to a newer console.
The PS4/PC/Mac guide documents the headset components and base-station cables, including Micro-USB and TOSLINK. If replacing an ear cushion, headband, or cable, confirm that the part fits your exact A50 Gen 4 variant and setup; the guide’s description of swappable components does not verify specific replacement products: A50 Gen 4 PS4/PC/Mac quick-start guide.
