The Kang Dynasty and Doomsday are not two separate Avengers films: The Kang Dynasty was the original announced title for the fifth Avengers movie, later retitled Avengers: Doomsday. Avengers: Secret Wars is a separate film announced to follow it. How the three titles relate
Marvel’s 2022 announcement presented Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars as two separate movies. In its 2024 presentation report, Marvel used Avengers: Doomsday for the fifth Avengers film and kept Secret Wars as the separate follow-up, naming Anthony and Joe Russo as directors of both. Which movie comes first?
In Marvel’s announcements, Doomsday comes before Secret Wars: the studio presented them as the fifth Avengers film and its separate follow-up. Since The Kang Dynasty was the earlier title for Doomsday, it is not an additional installment that fits between them. This describes the announced film sequence, not confirmed plot details.
What are the current release dates?

Disney’s U.S. movie listing currently gives Avengers: Doomsday a theatrical release date of December 18, 2026. Dates can differ by region: a Disney UK press announcement dated July 20, 2026, gives December 16. Check the listing for your market when planning to see the film. Avengers: Secret Wars
The official pages cited here do not establish a current release date for Secret Wars. Marvel originally announced November 7, 2025, then moved it to May 7, 2027 in a 2023 schedule update. Why older dates still appear online
Marvel’s release plan changed over several announcements, so a date found in an older article may accurately describe what was announced at that time without being current:

The announcements establish the films’ titles, their relationship in the announced sequence, and the directors named in Marvel’s 2024 report. They do not establish detailed plot comparisons between Doomsday and Secret Wars. The titles alone are not enough to confirm a storyline, the role of any character, or whether the films adapt specific comic-book events.
