Unplug the brush dryer, let it cool completely, and check whether its brush head detaches before cleaning. For a non-detachable unit, remove hair gently, clear lint from the air intake without pushing debris inside, and wipe the exterior with a slightly damp cloth. Check whether the brush head can be removed

Clean a non-detachable brush dryer without soaking it
- Switch it off, unplug it, and let it cool completely. The REVLON owner manual directs users to disconnect the appliance and allow it to cool before cleaning.
- Remove loose hair from the bristles. Lift strands away gently with your fingers, a wide-tooth comb, or a small soft brush. Avoid yanking hair or prying against the bristles.
- Clear dust and lint from the air intake. Use a small brush or a vacuum cleaner’s brush attachment at the intake openings, as the manual allows. Work gently so you do not push debris into the appliance.
- Wipe the exterior, then dry it. Use a slightly damp cloth on the outside of the appliance and dry it afterward. The cited manual says not to wash the unit or allow moisture or additional debris to enter it.
The REVLON manual says to “Keep all vents and openings clean and free of dust, dirt, and hair spray.” Follow the vent layout and cleaning directions in your own model’s manual rather than assuming every brush dryer has the same openings.

Wash a detachable head only when its instructions allow it
A detachable head is not automatically washable. First confirm that the manufacturer permits rinsing the attachment, and remove it only as directed. For the detachable Volumiser Plus attachments on models RVDR5298 and RVDR5333, a Revlon team response hosted by Argos recommends removing hair with a wide-tooth comb or clean, soft toothbrush. It also permits cleaning those named attachments with mild soap and lukewarm water, followed by complete drying before reattachment.
That guidance is specific to the named detachable attachments. Do not rinse a non-detachable appliance or transfer these washing instructions to another model unless its own instructions allow it.

A question phrased as “How do you clean a blow dryer brush that you can’t soak it in water?” appears in a public video description, but it is a wording example, not technical guidance. The safe answer depends on whether the exact model’s head is detachable and what its manufacturer permits.
