Choose an inside-the-waistband (IWB) holster by confirming the exact Glock 48 configuration first: standard G48 or G48 MOS, plus any mounted optic or weapon light. Then verify that the holster maker names that setup as compatible and compare coverage, retention, attachment, handedness, and adjustment options. No single holster is established here as best for every G48 owner.
Start with the exact Glock 48 setup
Do not shop by “Glock 48” alone if your pistol has accessories or aftermarket modifications. Record the model and everything mounted to it before using a holster maker’s fit selector.
- Model: standard G48 or G48 MOS.
- Optic: whether one is installed and its exact model.
- Light: whether a weapon light is installed and its exact model.
- Modifications: note aftermarket slide work or other changes that may affect the holster’s fit.
GLOCK’s official accessories page lists a slim Sport/Combat holster for the G43, G43X, and G48. That is a stated fit for that product; it does not establish compatibility for every aftermarket holster or accessory combination. GLOCK’s Sport/Combat holster information.
For the G48 MOS, GLOCK describes a set with a Shield RMSc mounted directly and says it does not include adapter plates like standard MOS pistols. Verify compatibility for optics and lights
Use the holster maker’s product page or selector to confirm the precise combination of pistol, optic, and light. A family name or a listing that says “Glock 48” does not by itself confirm clearance for your mounted equipment. Read exclusions as well as the advertised fit.
Options on one listing apply only to that product. For example, Incognito Concealment’s Glock 48 listing offers a no-light or TLR-6 choice, right- or left-hand configuration, clip style, appendix modwing, and optional optic cut. Compare the features that affect fit and use
Once the maker confirms the configuration, compare the details that are actually specified for each candidate. Product descriptions are maker claims, not independent comparative results.
- Trigger-guard coverage and retention: Check how the design covers the trigger guard and whether retention is adjustable. Understand the maker’s stated retention method; a product description does not prove performance under stress.
- Attachment: Confirm whether the holster uses a clip or another attachment, and check belt-width compatibility. Ride height and cant can affect how the holster sits and draws, but are fit preferences rather than guaranteed concealment improvements.
- Handedness and position: Select right- or left-hand configuration and check whether the design supports your intended carry position.
- Clearance and comfort details: If offered, review optic clearance, light compatibility, sweat-shield shape, and any concealment wing. Confirm each feature for the specific product and setup.
- Purchase terms: Check the seller’s current return and warranty terms before ordering; these can vary by maker and listing.
GLOCK says its Sport/Combat polymer holster can be adapted to a range of belt widths. A 2023 GLOCK buyer guide describes the Sport/Combat family as lightweight and ambidextrous, with a trigger-guard retention device. Use this checklist before buying
- Identify whether your pistol is a standard G48 or G48 MOS, and note any aftermarket slide work.
- Write down the exact optic and weapon-light models, if installed.
- Use the maker’s fit selector and read its exclusions. Confirm the complete configuration rather than inferring fit from a shared model-family name.
- Review trigger-guard coverage and the maker’s stated retention design.
- Choose handedness and an attachment that suits your belt and intended use; check belt-width fit, ride height, and cant where specified.
- Check current return and warranty terms and confirm the listing still offers the options you need.
Follow the firearm’s safety and operating instructions
GLOCK’s materials page lists the G17–G48 owner’s manual and separate safety, maintenance, and optic-adapter instructions.
