The Dreaming City shares core patrol activities with other Destiny 2 destinations, but adds its own activity loop and endgame pursuits. Bungie currently names Blind Well as a special destination activity; The Shattered Throne dungeon and Last Wish raid offer distinct, activity-specific rewards. The main difference is therefore not that every Dreaming City activity has a wholly separate loot system, but that shared patrol rewards sit alongside destination and endgame reward pools.
What the Dreaming City shares with other destinations
Destinations in Destiny 2 have common patrol activities as well as activities unique to particular locations. Bungie’s current activity guide identifies public events and Lost Sectors as shared activity types. Public events take place in patrol zones, and discovering and triggering a hidden mechanic can make an event Heroic, which offers better gear and materials. Bungie’s Director guide also describes public events as a primary way to earn destination loot. Bungie’s Director guide and activity guide explain these shared loops.

Because those activity types recur across destinations, completing a Dreaming City public event or Lost Sector is not, by itself, what makes the location different. The distinction comes from the Dreaming City’s own special activity and its dungeon and raid, each with a different format and reward structure.
What is distinctive about the Dreaming City
Blind Well
Bungie’s current overview names Blind Well as a special public event in the Dreaming City. It places Blind Well in the same broad category as destination-specific activities such as Altars of Sorrow and Terminal Overload elsewhere: a location has its own activity loop in addition to shared patrol activities. Bungie describes these unique destination activities as distributing tiered rewards, but the reviewed official pages do not provide a complete current Blind Well loot table or exact drop odds.
#1 Best Overall
- From the makers of the acclaimed hit game Destiny, comes the much-anticipated sequel
- An action shooter that takes you on an epic journey across the solar system
- Humanity’s last safe city has fallen to an overwhelming invasion force, led by Ghaul, the imposing commander of the brutal Red Legion
- To defeat the Red Legion and confront Ghaul, you must reunite humanity’s scattered heroes, stand together, and fight back to reclaim our home
The Shattered Throne dungeon
The Shattered Throne is a dungeon rather than a patrol event. Bungie describes dungeons as activities with a boss and gear unique to that dungeon. Its Forsaken page associates the Wish-Ender bow with The Shattered Throne. That makes the dungeon a separate reward pursuit from the general destination loop. The current access requirements and a complete up-to-date item list are not established by the cited pages.
Last Wish raid
Last Wish is a raid, not a public event or dungeon. Bungie describes raids as six-player activities with exclusive weapons and armor, and its Forsaken page associates One Thousand Voices with Last Wish. Its team-based raid format and activity-specific loot distinguish it from both routine destination activities and the dungeon’s reward pool. The cited sources do not establish current drop probabilities or a complete live reward table.

How destination reward tiers compare
Bungie’s May 28, 2026 destination update describes refreshed loot for pre-Edge of Fate destinations, including new perks, tiered weapons for non-craftable pools, and set bonuses reflecting destination themes. For public events, the update gives this reward-tier framework:
| Public-event outcome | Reward tier described by Bungie |
|---|---|
| Base completion | Tier 3 |
| Heroic completion | Tier 4 |
| Individual reward upgrade | May reach Tier 5 |
| Activity during a Distortion | Rewards increase by one tier |
These are reward-tier labels from Bungie’s announcement, not percentages or guarantees that a particular item will drop. The update points readers to patch notes for details about unique activities; it does not supply a complete current Dreaming City activity-by-activity table. For general destination loot, Bungie says: “Most destinations in Destiny 2 have unique gear to earn as well as weapons unique to what’s called the World Loot Pool that’s earned through Legendary engrams that drop from general gameplay activities.” That is general guidance, not a Dreaming City-specific item list. What this comparison can—and cannot—tell you
The useful distinction is between shared destination activity, a Dreaming City-specific public-event loop, and endgame activities with their own gear pools. The available official pages support that comparison and Bungie’s announced tier framework. They do not establish exact current Dreaming City drops, probabilities, or access rules. Check current in-game reward descriptions and relevant patch notes when deciding whether a particular item is currently obtainable or how likely it is to drop.
