Reliance Digital advertised the 256GB iPhone 17 Pro Max at an effective price of Rs 71,990, but that figure is conditional: it assumes the full exchange value, a Rs 10,000 exchange bonus and eligible bank cashback. The phone’s stated MRP is Rs 1,49,900; the reported Rs 9,910 in-store discount brings the price to Rs 1,39,990 before exchange and other benefits.
How the Rs 71,990 price is calculated
Moneycontrol reported the offer on September 28, 2026. Reliance Digital’s page, last updated September 23, also advertised an effective price from Rs 71,990 with exchange and bank offers. The calculation reported for the 256GB model is:

The arithmetic is Rs 1,39,990 minus Rs 55,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 3,000. Moneycontrol’s September 28 offer breakdown and Reliance Digital’s offer page describe the lower amount as an effective price tied to combined benefits—not as a new universal checkout price.
What you may actually pay
Your payable amount depends on the exchange appraisal and whether you qualify for the bonus and cashback. If the old phone is valued below Rs 55,000, the price rises by the difference. If the Rs 3,000 cashback does not apply, add that amount back as well. The Rs 71,990 figure is therefore a best-case calculation, not a price every buyer can expect.

Before buying, compare the quote shown for your own phone and card against the Rs 1,49,900 MRP. The reports do not provide a complete current list of eligible bank cards, so check the live retailer terms rather than assuming a card qualifies.
Exchange, cashback and availability checks
- Exchange value: Moneycontrol reports a maximum of up to Rs 55,000 based on an iPhone 15 Pro. The actual value depends on the model and condition, and a lower appraisal increases your cost.
- Exchange bonus: The Rs 10,000 bonus is conditional on the retailer’s applicable terms.
- Bank cashback: The Rs 3,000 cashback requires an eligible bank card and compliance with the offer terms.
- Live offer: The cited retailer and report pages were dated September 23 and September 28, 2026, respectively. They do not establish an expiry date or confirm that the promotion remains available on October 4, 2026. Check the current listing, stock and terms before purchase; Reliance Digital says prices may change without notice.
Apple’s India Trade In guidance explains that trade-in value is applied toward a new purchase and may be reassessed if a device fails diagnostics or its condition differs from the description. That is general Apple guidance, not evidence of Reliance Digital’s specific assessment procedure.

Is this a permanent iPhone price cut?
No permanent Apple list-price reduction is established by these offer reports. Reliance Digital states an MRP of Rs 1,49,900 for the 256GB iPhone 17 Pro Max and presents Rs 71,990 as an effective price after combining the in-store discount, exchange value, exchange bonus and bank cashback. Treat it as a retailer promotion, subject to its terms and availability.
Apple’s Retail India Sales Policy says a customer may request a refund or credit for a price difference if Apple reduces an Apple-branded product’s price within 14 calendar days after receipt. That policy concerns an Apple price change; it does not establish that a separate Reliance Digital promotion qualifies.
