Then make sure you’re using the Monthly Games menu—not the Game Catalog—and troubleshoot the specific failure: claim button, locked game, or download.
Make sure you’re claiming a Monthly Game
Monthly Games and the Game Catalog are different PlayStation Plus benefits. Monthly Games are available to claim through the monthly offer. Game Catalog and Classics Catalog titles follow catalog availability rules and may be removed; Game Catalog access requires Extra or Premium. PlayStation lists Monthly Games for Essential, Extra, and Premium. See PlayStation Plus membership benefits and its catalog listing.

Find the monthly offer on PS5
- Open Games from the home screen.
- Select PlayStation Plus, then Benefits.
- Open Monthly Games and select the game.
Find the monthly offer on PS4
- Open the function screen and select PlayStation Plus.
- Choose Monthly Games, select the title, then choose Add to Library.
These are the console-specific steps in PlayStation’s Monthly Games guide.
Check the account, membership, and offer
Use the subscriber’s account
PlayStation Plus benefits belong to the account with the subscription. Confirm that you’re signed into the account intended to claim the game, and check that its subscription is active in account settings. If the membership expired, restore it before expecting access to claimed monthly games.

Do not rely on console sharing to claim the offer
The subscriber should redeem the monthly game on their own account. PlayStation explicitly says redeeming PlayStation Plus games on another account “can’t be shared.” Console sharing can let other users access some downloaded benefits on an activated PS5 or primary PS4, subject to PlayStation’s rules, but it does not give those accounts the subscriber’s claim entitlement. See PlayStation’s console-sharing guidance.
Verify that the title is still offered in your account region
New monthly games are added each calendar month, and the available offer can vary by region. Check the PlayStation Plus guide for the region of your account and confirm the exact title is still listed. The current claim window and regional availability are not established here, so don’t assume an offer is still open based on an older listing. PlayStation’s Monthly Games guide is the starting point.

Choose the fix based on what fails
| What you see | What to check or do |
|---|---|
| The title is missing or there is no claim option | Confirm you’re in Monthly Games, signed into the subscriber’s account, and viewing the offer for that account’s region. Check the active membership and offer availability. |
| You claimed the game, but it is locked | Sign in to the account that claimed it; verify that its Plus membership is active; check PlayStation Network status and system software; then restore licenses. |
| The download will not start or complete | Check available storage and PlayStation Network status. On PS5, pause and resume the download. If it still fails, cancel or delete it and try again from the library. |
| Only one game or account is affected | Focus on that title’s offer availability, the account that claimed it, and its license. |
| Several PlayStation Network functions are failing | Check whether PlayStation Network has a service issue before repeating account or download steps. |
PlayStation’s license-restoration instructions, game troubleshooting guidance, and network status page cover these checks.
Restore licenses and retry a failed download
If the game is claimed but appears locked, restore licenses on the console signed into the claiming account. The setting’s location can differ by console software version; follow PlayStation’s current console-specific steps in its restore licenses guide.

For a PS5 download that will not start, pause it and resume it. If that does not work, cancel or delete the download and start it again from the library. Make sure the console has enough free storage. PlayStation gives these steps in its PS5 download troubleshooting guide.

PlayStation says CE-107255-0 means it cannot confirm the PlayStation Plus subscription. Check your internet connection and PSN sign-in, then verify that the subscription has not expired. If you can sign in and the membership is active, PlayStation describes the issue as likely temporary and recommends trying again later. See PlayStation’s CE-107255-0 instructions.

Contact PlayStation Support with useful details
If the claim still fails after the account, offer, service, and license checks, contact PlayStation Support. Include the exact error message or code, the steps that led to it, when you tried, and a screenshot or video if possible. These details help support identify whether the problem is with the offer, account entitlement, or download.
