For Steam, Into the Radius 2 is no longer an Early Access purchase: the PC VR game launched on April 23, 2026. It may suit players who want deliberate survival combat, detailed weapon handling and co-op, provided their VR hardware is supported. The purchase is less straightforward if you need broad device compatibility or are relying on the latest Steam review snapshot as a clear quality verdict.
Is Into the Radius 2 still in Early Access?
No—not on Steam. The store lists April 23, 2026 as the release date and July 24, 2024 as the start of Early Access. The title’s Early Access wording is therefore out of date for the Steam version. Steam’s Into the Radius 2 listing is the relevant place to check current availability and requirements.

The PS VR2 version is a separate release. In an August 2026 PlayStation Blog announcement, developer CM Immersive said the PS5 version would launch on September 24, 2026 as a single-player campaign, with two-player co-op planned as a free update for Q4 2026. What kind of game is it?
Into the Radius 2 is a VR survival shooter built around preparation and careful weapon use rather than simply rushing into fights. Its advertised systems include modular weapons that can be assembled and customized part by part, weapon cleaning and maintenance, customizable carried gear, hostile entities, anomalies and changing environmental conditions. Steam also lists both solo play and online co-op. The Steam listing describes the PC version’s systems and modes.

In the PlayStation Blog announcement, CM Immersive game director Aleksei Shulga framed the game’s approach this way: “If you’ve stepped into the Pechorsk Anomaly before, you know that survival here isn’t about rushing in guns blazing. It’s about preparation, tactical patience, and respecting the unknown.” That description is useful if you are deciding whether its slower, equipment-focused style appeals to you; it is the developer’s characterization, not an independent assessment.
Check your VR platform and hardware first
The Steam version is marked VR Only and lists OpenXR. The hardware details below are those captured on Steam in 2026; requirements and device support can change, so verify the current listing before buying.

Steam’s captured listing says HTC Vive Wands and Windows Mixed Reality devices are unsupported. Check both your headset/controller combination and your PC against the current Steam requirements; meeting a graphics-card specification alone does not establish that your controllers are supported.
For PS5, the separate release requires a PlayStation VR2 headset. The developer says that version includes adaptive trigger response, headset and controller haptics, 3D Audio, and eye-tracked foveated rendering, with native 90 FPS claimed by the developer. How do solo play and co-op differ by platform?

For Steam co-op, the developer advised parties of three or four to adjust difficulty manually because it does not automatically increase with party size. Its update announcement also described a Shooting Range for testing weapons and attachments and a Kill House playable solo or with friends, and named the G3 rifle and MP5 SMG among additions. What do Steam reviews and price tell you?
In a Steam snapshot captured October 4, 2026, 79% of 3,889 English-language reviews were positive, which Steam labeled “Mostly Positive.” The recent-review snapshot was 64% positive from 125 reviews, labeled “Mixed.” These are point-in-time store metrics; they do not establish why the two proportions differ. Check the Steam listing for the current review picture.
Steam displayed a US price of $39.99 in that same October 4, 2026 snapshot. It is not a guaranteed current price in the US or elsewhere: check your regional storefront and checkout for the price you would actually pay. The official listing reviewed here is digital; the cited sources do not establish a physical game edition.
How polished is it?
The mixed recent Steam label alongside a mostly positive all-time label is a reason to inspect current reviews, not proof of a particular bug, performance problem or improvement. The store figures cannot explain reviewer sentiment, and there is no independent performance testing established here.
A developer update announcement recorded co-op issues at the time, including clients appearing below the maze area in Kalasaare Village after a particular teleport and modular weapon statistics displaying incorrectly for clients in an item-information window. That is a dated issue list, not evidence that either issue remained present on October 4, 2026. Consult the developer’s Steam update notes alongside recent player reports for current status.
