If you need a case that charges your Nintendo Switch 2 while you travel, the Belkin Charging Case Pro is the direct option here: reviews describe it as having a built-in battery. PowerA and Nacon make protective carrying cases, not charging cases; Nyko’s Thin Case is an attached shell for play, not travel storage. Choose by whether you need power, room for gear, or a slimmer shell—and budget separately for a charger or power bank when the case does not include one.
At a glance: which option fits your use?
| Option | Charges Switch 2? | Best suited to | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Belkin Charging Case Pro | Yes; T3 and Tom’s Guide report an integrated 10,000mAh battery. | Charging during travel, with a tabletop-play stand also described by Tom’s Guide. | Its current price and listing should be checked; a separate power bank may be unnecessary if its built-in battery meets your needs. |
| PowerA Protection Case | No built-in charging is stated on the cited product page. | Carrying the console, game cards, microSD Express cards, and small accessories. | Bring a separate compatible charger or power bank if you need power on the go. |
| Nacon Protection Case XL | No built-in charging is stated in the cited review. | Taking the console, dock, games, and some accessories together. | TechRadar describes it as bulky, so it is a poor fit for a slim-bag setup. |
| Nyko Thin Case | No battery or charging function is established by the cited catalog. | An attached shell while holding and playing the console. | It is not a padded travel case or a substitute for a charger; the catalog does not establish drop protection or fit performance. |
These are different product categories, not four directly interchangeable charging cases. The cited sources do not provide consistent independent measurements of dimensions, weight, impact protection, or charging runtime, so the comparison is about documented features and use cases.
Belkin Charging Case Pro: the integrated-power choice
T3 and Tom’s Guide report that the Belkin Charging Case Pro has a built-in 10,000mAh battery. Tom’s Guide also reports 30W charging and a stand for tabletop play. Those are reported product details, not a side-by-side lab comparison.
Tom’s Guide’s reviewer estimated that the battery could recharge the console about 1.5 times. Treat that as a reviewer-reported estimate, not a guaranteed number: actual results depend on conditions, and the source does not establish a standardized runtime test. T3’s review and Tom’s Guide’s review are the cited sources for these claims.

The earlier Belkin Charging Case was described by T3 as placing a power bank in a recess and connecting it with a short cable. That differs from the Pro’s reported integrated-battery design. T3 showed a $99.99 listing price when accessed; it is not a guaranteed current price, so check the present listing before buying.
PowerA Protection Case: compact storage without a built-in battery
PowerA’s case is the straightforward choice when the goal is to protect and organize the console rather than charge it. The manufacturer lists a molded, plush-lined fit, a removable holder for nine game cards and two microSD Express cards, and a mesh pocket for small items such as a cable, earbuds, or Joy-Con 2 wrist straps.
That storage makes it more suitable than a basic shell for everyday carry, but it does not solve charging by itself. If you need extra power away from an outlet, add a separate charger or power bank and account for its space. PowerA’s page showed $24.99 when accessed; prices change, so verify the current price and model before purchase. See PowerA’s product page for its stated features.

Nacon Protection Case XL: take the dock and more gear
Choose the Nacon Protection Case XL when carrying the home setup matters more than keeping your bag slim. TechRadar says it can hold the console, dock, ten game cards, and a few accessories, including a Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip and power cable. That capacity addresses a different trip than a small case for the console alone.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →The trade-off is bulk: TechRadar’s reviewer warns that the case is large for anyone seeking a slim bag. The review describes storage capacity, not an integrated battery or console-charging feature, so do not treat it as a charging case. Read TechRadar’s review for its assessment.
Nyko Thin Case: an attached shell, not travel storage
Nyko lists Thin Case options for Switch 2 in its catalog. This is the adjacent option for someone who wants a shell attached during play, not a carrying case with pockets or a battery. The catalog does not establish impact-protection performance or how reliably the shell fits, so do not infer either from the product name alone. Check Nyko’s Switch 2 catalog for current options.

Choose by what you need to carry—and how you will charge
- Need the case itself to provide travel charging? The Belkin Charging Case Pro is the option in this comparison with a reported built-in battery.
- Need room for the console, games, and small items? PowerA’s listed card capacity and mesh pocket suit that lighter carry load; bring separate power if required.
- Need the dock and accessories in one case? Nacon XL is the storage-oriented choice, with bulk as the cost of that capacity.
- Want protection while holding the console? Consider Nyko’s attached shell as a different category, not as luggage or a charger.
Check Switch 2 charger and dock compatibility
Do not assume an original Switch adapter and dock will both work the same way with Switch 2. Nintendo says: “A Nintendo Switch AC adapter (HAC-002) can be used to charge the Nintendo Switch 2 console directly but not with the Nintendo Switch 2 dock for charging or TV mode.” In other words, the adapter can charge the console directly, but it is not a complete substitute for the Switch 2 dock setup. Nintendo also marks the original Switch dock as incompatible with Switch 2 on its compatibility page.
Nintendo Support’s 2026 guidance says an unlicensed replacement AC adapter should provide 54W or more, while still recommending a licensed Switch 2 adapter; Nintendo says it does not test and evaluate unlicensed products. Check Nintendo’s adapter guidance and Nintendo’s compatibility page for the current details. For any case, verify the current listing, included accessories, and fit for your console before ordering.
