If your Verizon Ellipsis 7 won’t reset, first identify what it is doing: a factory reset through Android settings is different from restarting a frozen tablet, and “no command” is a separate recovery-screen problem. If Settings opens, use the documented reset route below; if the tablet is unresponsive, try a lower-risk power-cycle before considering data-erasing steps.
Identify the problem before trying to reset
Check which state matches your tablet. The right next step depends on whether Android still loads, the screen is frozen, the device will not power on, or recovery displays “no command.” A restart does not erase data; a factory reset does.
- Android settings open: You can use the documented Settings route to factory-reset the tablet.
- The tablet is frozen or unresponsive: Try a power-cycle suggestion before attempting a data-erasing reset.
- The screen stays dark or the tablet will not start: Check charging and power before troubleshooting reset navigation.
- Recovery displays “no command”: Record the exact screen and steps you tried; the available Verizon support thread does not establish a universal fix.
If Android settings are accessible

A factory reset removes Google or other email account settings, system and app data and settings, and downloaded apps. Back up any information you can still access before proceeding. This route requires Android settings to be available; it does not apply when the tablet is stuck before Android loads, and the guide does not promise that resetting will repair failing hardware.

If the tablet is frozen or unresponsive
Try a power-cycle first

Community-reported button combinations are unverified
A Verizon community discussion about a tablet frozen at the welcome screen mentions holding power and volume buttons together for a forced reboot, and power plus volume down to reach recovery. These are user-community suggestions, not sequences confirmed by the official guide. Button timing or hardware revision may matter, so do not assume either combination will work on every Ellipsis 7. If the tablet will not power on or the screen stays dark
In a device-specific Verizon support exchange, a support reply suggested leaving the tablet to charge longer, then trying another charger or outlet and holding power with volume down for about 10 seconds. The iFixit troubleshooting page lists a charger, charging port, or battery issue among possible reasons charging may fail. It also suggests removing a memory card as a diagnostic step, with the device powered off first. These possibilities do not diagnose your tablet; seek professional assessment if an internal hardware fault seems likely rather than attempting an unsupported repair.

What to do when recovery says “no command”

For device-specific troubleshooting, note the exact model identifier from the label, the full screen text, whether Android starts, and the button sequence and timing you already tried. The available sources do not verify one recovery-menu action that resolves “no command” on every Ellipsis 7. Avoid applying generic Android or newer-device instructions as though they were confirmed for this model. The same thread mentions a search for a stock ROM, but does not provide one or establish a safe official download; do not flash an unverified image.
